i agree entirely, i only joined a short while ago and as well as enjoying some good tunes i even met 20?ish of them at "vurtstock".

i can't imagine you get that on many forums (although i'm talking off the top of my head as apart from .net/sql forums this is the first i've ever joined)

@sickle: So by saying I have a CD with Cesaria Evora, Nightmares on Wax, Dead can Dance, David Byrne, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Moby and whatnot, any point I thereafter make is valid.

There are jokes that are funny, and there are ones that under circumstances came out as bullying. From here, it looked like you (prepare for The Cliche), couple of jocks, are making fun of a red-haired nerd dressed in demode chlotes, and one of you starts imitating how he speaks but doing it in the way to even ridicule him more.

That's also an example of a joke, that maybe funny to insiders, and that's how it looked to me.

I don't think that choosing under which limitation one will work, makes one more or less an artist (choosing being the keyword here).

In todays artistic world most, if not all, rules have been taken down, and it hasn't done us that much good. Freedom is not what good art makes, and the way I see it, today's artist almost always creates a set of limitation within which he'll work, if nothing, then subconsciously.

Come on and tell me you never fell into temptation to make a whole track with just one synth or just a handfull of samples or something.

This has been a successful tune in many ways – another gem for k-v-r’s all too serious

Is it a summer solstice thing – do some just go nuts and forget humour?

Or is it something else – I personally found the tune to be a good bit of fun (it still is actually )

peejunk, do you frown a lot? You seem to be awfully serious about everything, which could be where you're going wrong. I was serious once and I couldn't get on with it, so I went back to my old job of village idiot.

I can make a whole track with nothing but a speak'n'spell and a single sample.

Its not 'temptation', and it certainly aint formulaic

ps what's 'demode chlotes'? Im really shit at fashion and that sorta thing but this confused me. I know what culottes are, but Im sure it cant be the same thing.
