Cool! That's two points for you (instead of only one).

Now someone with 'Rubberduck' please. :)

How efficient is it (Samplitude X3) as far as CPU and RAM? For example, compared to Reaper? Sorry, I don't have time to demo it today.

Another DAW that includes some excellent plugins, a Wave editor and specialised spectral clean up tool :tu:

Anyone know if the 70gb sample library is available for use outside of the DAW? I’m on a Mac, but I might install this on a PC just to access the library.

Also, what is the quality of the library?

The main SpectralLayers vid is a bit lengthy, but if you start at 6.50min you'll see (more important: hear) what it adds to your tools.

Actually, I'm almost more pleased by it than by Soundforge (which I needed anyway).

Ok, the siren in the demo vid is a very 'thankful' sound due to its characteristics, but the process itself is convincing.

Best buy this year, besides the "Mushroom Generator" (we didn't talk about it yet, did we?).

Appears to be in a proprietary format, so no.

I haven't checked it out yet but have read previously it's considered better than Konrakt's bundled standard library

You need to buy a separate licence to run it outside of Samplitude unfortunately. I think the quality is very good. The strings are from Kurt Hunter. Brass sounds good as well.

The email I got definitely states “upgrade” and “aniversary offer” making it look like it’s an offer for existing users and not a general sale.
That's a great price for anyone new to Samplitude.

Post

Is there an upgrade offer for Samplitude Suite owners to get Independence cheaper?

I downloaded the free version which is an older version than that bundled with Samplitude Suite and then had to uninstall it as it appears I cant run them side by side as the Samplitude version thinks its not registered

Ive got a couple of questions

What are the Additional Content Packs?
Where are they installed?
How can I change the default install location?

Ive just installed one 'Additional Content Pack 1', no option to choose the location.
I can see my C drive has less space but no idea where its installed or how to access it !!!

It should be located here C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common
I've moved the samples to a different hard drive but I've never tried moving the synths plus content. I will look into finding out if that's possible.

For anyone who's new to Samplitude Pro X3 the Offical Samplitude/Sequoia forum of which I am a moderator is located here:
http://support2.magix.net/boards/samplitude/index.php

You will need to sign up to access the main section.

There are also forums for specific programs like Soundforge/Spectral layers plus many other MAGIX apps if you follow the links here: https://www.magix.info/
Although I don't really have time to frequent them much.I tend to concentrate on helping Samplitude/Sequoia users at the first link I posted.

Hi, (legendary) Kraznet! It's an honor to talk to you, for all you represent to Samplitude/Sequoia, the DAWs that have revolutionized my life!

I never got to be a member of the official forum (the first one indicated above).

I am a legitimate user of the latest version of Samplitude, but I have never received a confirmation of my registration in the forum!

What's wrong there?

Hi Johnny,

Thanks for your kind words. I have heard of people in the past having problems getting confirmation of registration to the forum. If you can PM me the email address you registered under and your username I will contact MAGIX on Monday about it.
