Decapitator.
Usually the A or N channel. Blended in about 10-20%. Just until I can barely hear it, then dialed back a notch.
And light compression on the mix bus.

Yes I don't like that compensation either. Better use something like SlickEQ after itpeterdh wrote:I also do not like the damping effect of my higher frequencies and the "High-Frequency Trim boost" does not sound like a nice compensation to my ears.
Any comments?
Softube Tape is amazing though. Really ended my quest for a go-to tape plugin. My tip is not to leave the Speed Stability fully at zero - moving it even just a notch will activate a whole lot of dynamic tape-y goodness

The only one I like currently is DMG Limitless.
Have tried a bunch but Limitless can be tweaked to do what I want.

That API compressor is quite flexible.HansR83 wrote:For me:

Most people don't know that the Waves API are one of their exceptions where that Analog switch doesn't just activate it's noise, but its harmonics as well. You might want to think again when turn that switch off because you will also be getting rid of that API harmonic character.
On the plus side its a modern compressor, circa 2000. So it's noise levels are very low, around the -100dB mark, so you can safely use a few of these and leave the Analog on to get those API harmonics.

I'm the same as you.. a few percent of instability can't hurt? When it's just a smidge it gets in "fairydust" territory. You can't tell what it's doing but you somehow prefer it on (Waves Saphira has a similar control with similar result). Those are the best sweeteners. The 'Crosstalk' control is the same, a little goes a long way and it all adds up.Bouroki wrote:

That Abbey Road Vinyl is pretty slick. I haven’t used it much as I should have though. Time to crack it out again.
I want to try blending parallel style.
Damn. It’s $50 now, I think I paid more for it originally.

There is One from IK and bx_masterdesk. Both are great tools for the master buss.
Again, a simple plugin on the buss isn’t what “glues” a mix. That’s really a false idealology. It’s actually a multitude of things, but yes a little something on the master can contribute a bit.
