Downloaded the demo, this thing is indeed quite awesome. The operators in the mod matrix (and the size of the matrix) are a great addition. The ‘8 in 1’ LFOs are cool. The factory samples are really strange and fun (not much bread n butter, fine by me). This seems extremely well suited for deep sound creation.
Reminds me a bit of Falcon ( except it has with fixed resources) but i didn’t get on well with Falcon. I could do without the graphic for the vector xy ( i turned off the animation).
I haven’t bought a software in 2 years but perhaps i’ll get this for a holiday present.

The demo is amazingly annoying, white noise every 10 seconds, nag screen every couple of minutes. Go to register plugin for the demo and says the demo period has expired after 15 minutes of total use. Sounds really nice but one of the worst ways to get you to actually buy the thing.

I did that. Then realised if you register/activate the demo you get a time-limited demo that doesn't do the white-noise thing.shonky wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 9:08 am The demo is amazingly annoying, white noise every 10 seconds, nag screen every couple of minutes. Possibly. Think that it looks a little too complex for my needs at the moment and should probably step off the GAS for a little while anyway so might be just as well it's not working so great anyway

Factory on its own can keep you busy.
Biotek has some nice aspects to it - the FM synth in every slot and the sequenced LFOs. But that also makes it a bit of a beast to get into. Unless you're going to use a lot of that, you've effectively got something like ANA2 all over again, only with a lot more oscillators. And Kaivo does granular.

Looking to buy Biotek2. Any promotion anywhere?

Tracktion has been doing fairly regular sales. If they don't do a Memorial Day offer, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4th July one. Last year, Memorial Day was 25% off stuff; 40% off for 4th July.

Have to poll the web site from time to time though, to check for updates. Receiving emails about this would be very nice and very practical, though.
As for the synth itself, I like it, although I much prefer the UI of the first version. Biotek 2 UI is a bit on the bland side.

Still missing drag- and drop sample import for Biotek2.
It´s an essential feature for me.

This is a quite unique beast. Offers unusual features and sound combinations plus comprehensive modulation possibilities. Reminds me a bit of Alchemy...
