FWIW to all reading the thread, I demo'ed them all. I personally don't *need* Diva or the rest but damn, I think I *need* Satin. That's something I don't have in my arsenal and given I am a guitar guy and work sometimes with acoustic guitar instruments, this one would be really useful.

To help with decisions for others. Regular EU prices are:

That's adding up to about roughly ~$1100 canadian $'s. (forgive the bad accounting if I am off)

Diva or Repro?

What do you recommend for my first u-he plugin? I have a decent computer that seemed to handle the demos fine, but just wanted a quick opinion in case I cannot get a good deal here on KVR and can get only one of them on NI website.

All I can say is that I'd have a really hard time picking between them. The RePro's are fantastic and get used a ton. RePro-1 has that sequencer, and Jaws, and just brutal, hard-nosed modulation. RePro-5 sounds terrific too, not quite as aggressive as RePro-1 (maybe just how I use them), but certainly far more so than Diva. Both RePro's have the modulation matrices that also help shape things a little further. Diva, on the other hand has a wider selection of modules, but isn't quite so nasty.

So if having to chose between them, if you wanted something nasty, sleezy, with some big teeth: I'd go RePro. If you wanted something warm and fat, I'd go Diva. Note: RePro can sound warm and fat, but Diva doesn't get as nasty sounding out of the box as RePro.

Dan Worall videos? This makes one more solid reason to get Repro now. The best plugins need the best teacher. I wish he also did some Diva tutorials.

Yes, I agree, Repro has much better and versatile effects than Diva. But Diva has more Sound possibilities because of the 2 Lfos and module combinations. Repro though, has different filters and envelopes, too. I'd call it even the evolution of DIVA.
Another great thing about U-HE is, if DIVA 2 happens, the upgrade price will be low, according to Urs way below 50€. That's huge if you consider the other synth makers often ask 60-80€ (as seen recently).
Also U-HE commits to support their synths years if not decades in the future, that's not often the case, mostly you have to buy a new version and the old "project compatible" version is abandoned.

Thanks, that is helpful to know. Good to know some different opinion as well. However, the words you (rightly) mentioned are so good that I think I want both.

Hope there is not a steep learning curve with either of them. On demoing them I find them very neatly presented and easy to understand, but did not dive deep into modulation, etc., which is where it becomes tricky sometimes.
