Holy f**k I can't believe it. This was a post I made in 2019. Looking like a 2020 release ROTFLMFAO.benjamind wrote: Wed May 15, 2019 9:29 am Someone changed it in a quote.
Anyway I doubt we'll see MODO Guitars this year and sadly as much as I'd love to see a 2019 release, it's looking quite like a 2020 release. I mean 4 years is quite a long time, right?
Tis now mid 2022 and still um...no sign of it. This is in spite of the basses being upgraded and two uprights added.
Modo Bass 2 has come and gone and we have Modo drum 1.5 like ages ago.
And still no guitars. Gee they must be hard to do or I am sadly mistaken and I'm missing something. Maybe the truth is too difficult to process so we just keep hoping while we wait for nothing. Only THEY know the truth of what is happening (or not happening as the case may be).
No one else does. How about we settle this once and for all? Is it in development or not? Is it coming or has something, for whatever reason or whatever kept it forever away from us?
I am sick of reading old threads and getting reminded of stuff I wrote years ago after already waiting years.

Well, I’d venture to say MODO STRINGS or something similar is definitely in the works. I say this because I can’t imagine they put all of that R&D into just modeling a stand-up bass for jazz and rockabilly. I’d venture to say what we see in MODO BASS 2 is just one part of a larger strings modeling venture.

I presume they would be focusing on guitars since we already have modelled bowed strings (Audiomodeling).jamcat wrote: Wed Jul 20, 2022 6:59 am Well, I’d venture to say MODO STRINGS or something similar is definitely in the works. MODO BASS has been out nearly 6 years. Had one major upgrade in 2017 and one major upgrade earlier this year.
Bass. Drums. Guitar. That's all in alphabetical order.
Also there was registration page on a copyright/patent site where the product names or something along those lines was mentioned. It mention basses drums and guitars. Three products listed apparently.
So going by that the next MODO instrument will be guitars. Hopefully they add acoustics (steel nylon banjo mandolin) too the collection.
I guess we will see. But when the BASS first came out it has already been like 8 years in development. That means there have been working on this things since 2008.
It is today 2022 and there is still no guitars. So it is 14 years in development as total. That is reasonable for the complexity and how they are manage to recreate a complete rock band in virtual instrument format but boy is that a long time.
I sure hope they release it eventually. It has been at the top of my list for many years as of now. Hope it comes.

You could have just learned to play guitar in that time.
I kid, of course! For me, I don't really care too much how accurate the modeling is, or if there's acoustic guitars or what have you. I just want something reasonable with a small footprint that I can install on my laptop's SSD for writing guitar parts on the road that will show me exactly how to play them when I inevitably forget.

Hiya Peter, is there any chance on getting any word updating us on what is going to happen here?

Yeah I don't think he or any representative is allowed to mention anything because they keep everything under wraps until it is ready.nix808 wrote: Wed Jul 20, 2022 10:47 pmHiya Peter, is there any chance on getting any word updating us on what is going to happen here?
Which could be another 6 years away. Given the absolute shitty state of the economy I am not sure what is coming now. For all of what I know I may die without ever knowing such an amazing versatile instrument - or should I mention - collection of instruments.
I get a feeling that the news isn't good even though it may be. It is preferable for me to be wrong about that and get a pleasant surprise than for me to have a fantasy in my head only for it to be trampled by...reality or some other issue that stops this dream from being realised.
If it comes it comes. If it doesn't it f**king doesn't. Pretty simple and leaves me enough resilience to carry on if this wonderful thing never comes.
No one can predict the future. One nuke and where all f**ked and gone.
Not to worry. Life can be a mean cruel mistress at times. And this time it sure can be. I feel so sorry for those caught up in senseless wars.

I just hope this silly war ends. I would happily trade anything and I mean anything of mine to have world peace again. It's another dream of mine that sadly seems so far away.
Let's hope 2023 is better for all.

oh,
it's on topic or off topic
and if I start talking politics,
that's where it's headed
I do appreciate it though, myself

While it's amp and cab modelling aren't it's strong points, nothing stops you from put it through a better Amp sim, it does everything Shreddag can do.
