excuse me please wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2020 2:43 pm My choice would be KRK Rokit Classic 5. Electronic music and first purchase.
Anyone else using them?

Want to buy something at this price range, so thank you for your replies.
What is your main use for the speakers, which genres, room size and all that?

The main use will be producing and mixing music. With genres... it will be hard to say: something between minimal/downtempo/chillout/ambient/trip hop... and room size... I life in a small flat - the room is 4x4metres +- . My current speakers are M-Audio AV30.

If you also could recommend me a new headphones, it will be also nice. I still have my 8-years old Sennheiser HD201.

I have those too, taped headband, cushions weared out, love those cans, they reveal sibilants, harshness and mid range really great, but I find Superlux HD681 more full range, use them in conjunction with Realphones and quite happy with that combo.

This guy seems to be happy with his 681F's too

Mackie MR524 are great gem for the ~200 bucks a pair, JBL 305 too, you can't go wrong with either Adam T5V or Kali LP-6, all amazing monitors that will do the job and will be a step up from your current ones, you just need to decide which ones make more sense to you. If you like brighter sounding speakers (extended hi end), those Mackie's and Adam's are the ones to look at.

I'm happy with my trusty Fluid Audio F5's in similarly sized room with similar genres, got them for 200 euros few years ago, amazing thing for the buck, some colleagues went to get Adam A5X and such and returned home with them, there's local store that have them hooked up all the time, so they gave them a whirl while they were there, turn out to be amazing thing for their wallet and needs... neutral sounding, quite detailed, great depth, moderate low end extension, decent build quality...

Mackie MR524 has the same price like KRK Classic 5, but KRKs are on sale in bundle with USB audio interface.

Adam and Kali are more expensive: +25%.

I found a lot of positive feedback on JBL 305, and they are now on sale (not a big discount, but are cheaper than "normal" price).

I also put into Cart a headphones you recommended.

Just... thinking about replacing my M-Audio Mobile Pre USB too. It is only 16bit/48Khz. I don't need lot of instrument/mics inputs. Something cheap with good sound. Any ideas?

Thank you!

I have older Rokits, and they are good for the price, but note that the low end isn't stunning and they have an odd curve in the upper highs. I love them for just about anything in my tiny apartment. No worries about bass complaints, and the majority out outputted frequencies sound absolutely fantastic.

Behringer U-Phoria, 202HD should be enough, but if difference in price isn't that big for your budget, 204HD is maybe great future proof choice.

Thank you. I still prefer Scarlett Solo over Behringer because of user reviews.

Did same people tried both or you are just going based on what is more hyped by people?

Focusrite Solo cost like Behringer U Phoria 404HD, which would be 4i4 in Focusrite world. Focusrite is famous for their drivers issues on Windows and there's really nothing in that device that is really better, if anything Behringer got MIDAS pre's. It's your money, if you dig around enough you will stumble upon all the info for both devices, some folks did really extensive testings, good luck.

Thank you for your time, help and recommendations. That may be true. But some of your named prices are not true here (they are higher), some items are sold out (out of stock for at least 1 month) and some of them are in sale right now (here in Czechia). That means, that I'm chosing what is available here.

For example: Focusrite Scarlett Solo price is in the middle of Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD and U Phoria 404HD. I'm looking for something small and compact. With my M-Audio Mobile PreUSB have a bad experiences with USB-B. Also like BIG output knob on Scarlett Solo.

I still apreciated your time and help.

Thanks, glad I could help, I mainly go by with Thomann prices, but I buy strictly locally too, had great experience with local distributors when I needed to return something or get repaired, so paying few bucks extra is no issue for me, it buys me peace of mind.

Check out Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1, should be in the same price range, have amazing big volume knob, NI have good track record of stable drivers and quality products.

Thanks for your tip. It was my GO-TO, until I've seen this (I know, that is not 1, but 2 - but it's almost the same):

Starts at 8:30 (the main part around 9:30)

In web shop are few unboxed these NI Komplete Audios for reduced price... (so it looks scary why buyers sent them back to the shop).

Still don't now what is the issue, USB-B or C doesn't mater if the drivers aren't up to task and that volume knob gain amount is actually great, you can lower your monitors to minimum and avoid the hissing and than properly gain in with interface, which can mitigate most of the hissing problems most have with the budget speakers, it's actually great thing. Guy in video probably have his monitors set to max and of course he can't take any more gain without blowing them up.

Maybe look into this kind of stuff too, You Tube "influencers" barely scratch the surface of any given topic they cover mostly...

Still, it's the part of the story, most important thing is how does it perform.

Maybe. I can neither confirm nor deny that. I don't know anyone who has NI Komplete Audio 1.

I have two interfaces that work that way, one is set on 70% of volume on interface and -6 on monitors and other interface is set way bellow 70% and I need to put my monitors on -18 and still it's louder than the first one and can go way louder without distortion. Difference been that my monitors are dead silent when set on -18 and hiss a little on -6.
