8 pages of (admitedly skim-read) arguments over semantics later, I find myself re-inforced in the opinion I had anyway:

Tracktion was the first host with a freeze function, and its still the only one that's got it right.

You'll all catch up with us one day.. maybe.

I wouldn't swap.

Which other host lets you slect all tracks, hit freeze, and end up with an edit that uses no cpu at all? I often do this before tracking vocals or guitars, so I devote all my resources to the job in hand no mattter how complex the edit. Alternatively, freeze the whole edit and start setting up your mastering processes in the mix bus.

There is no need to be able to edit frozen tracks, as you can render just as easily instead if thats what you need.

Its perfect IMO.

are you joking? tracktion's freeze is the weakest, most useless of the lot! it renders everything uneditable! as to when it was released, I think emagic had it first, and a hell of a lot better. Motu's, SX3's, Sonar4's etc freeze are infinitely superior to Tracktion's.

render is not freeze, if implemented correctly.

I still don't use freeze. And.......shock horror...I can still make music without the world spinning off its axis

I've just got lots of little blue buttons with pretty snowflakes on them, cluttering up my workspace.

Freezing
