Yes, it works through Rosetta2 for now. It's not Apple Silicon native.

R12 realistic review:
Upgrading? 12 is a rip-off. Unless you're on v6 or something.
New user? Reason is always worth the first purchase.
Combinator: update should have been done years ago as a free update. Nothing special at this point in its life cycle, too little too late.
Sampler: meh at best, don't see it being used ever - not worth anything.
Browser update: Junk, not worth a penny this should also have been free its so basic. Useful in the DAW only.
Updated resizable GUI/Rack: Good.
V11 was one of the greatest upgrades props released, and V12 is an insult comparatively.
Affordability isn't an issue (for me), value and speaking with your wallet is the only one that matters. I see no value in 12 over 11, except the resizable rack which most people out there want and props is hoping is worth $130 to them. Easy pass sadly, yet expected.

Have you tried Vital?

To be fair, there has been a pandemic, which will have no doubt affected the pace of development. Including the sampler will have been something of value, even if it does bring the number of samplers to ten from what I've heard. The combinator was the most important inclusion in Reason when it was introduced. They will have had ideas in how to take a new approach, but they would need time and a new way to implement things they wanted to. Sure, it has come late, but that's the norm for Propellerheads, however you need to look at the priority's and that of what had come since in the past 10 years. Even the basic combinator exceeds the needs of most people, I've built huge and massively complex combinator systems back in the day just with 2 wheels, four knobs and four buttons.Psuper wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 10:13 pm R12 realistic review:

To use the rack in Studio One with bigger instruments would really be the main reason for doing so because I don't see myself using the free lite and limited version. I'm not in any rush to though, because I have VST's like Dune 3, Hive 2, Parawaves Rapid, UHe's VST Effects Suite, CV Modular Rack... Reaktor 6... and a bunch of bought Reaktor ensembles.. not counting the free ensembles. I spent some years working in Reaktor building and rebuilding instruments from nodes, GUI's for them... I now spend more time doing GUI's for VST instruments which is a far more complex process. Doing combinator instruments for something like Antidote is something I've done already, and Predator's RE is rather ugly although one could hide that and focus on the Combinator skin instead.qvprod wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:05 amThis^THE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:57 am Even the basic combinator exceeds the needs of most people, I've built huge and massively complex combinator systems back in the day just with 2 wheels, four knobs and four buttons.

It's just weird to contemplate the way of doing things the easy way again. The combinator needs to expand with new controls beyond that of what's there currently. LCD Displays, X/ Y Pads.... something that approaches that of the RE SDK itself to be interesting to come back to.

Got it. My comment was slightly in jest, but I see where you're coming from. Would be interesting to see how many additions they make to the combinator since they seem so open to it There is the possibility for it to rival some REs even as is. Curious to see if refills become a huge deal again with this in mind.THE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:43 amTo use the rack in Studio One with bigger instruments would really be the main reason for doing so because I don't see myself using the free lite and limited version. Let's hope they put on some sort of livestream soon so people can ask questions. If I had the ssd space I would demo it as been quite annoying reading contradictory things in the manual and release notes. At least users of reason 12 have been able to confirm things and sure they will update manuals to be correct soon but seems hard to make a final informed decision at this point.

Their website is very weird, there is no information about the new features apart from one sentence

There's no proper demo anymore, just a 7-day free Reason+ trial.
BTW, I hope they'll figure out a way to upgrade the software without users having to d/l a 5GB file every time. I think I downloaded it 3 times this week between beta and final R+ release...

So if I try it for a week I can dl as many sound packs as I want and keep them (assuming any are worth it)?
Will I lose my Reason Studio product 'status' if I then revert back after the 7 days (and will it leave everything in a mess?)

Yes, you can download and keep all the sound packs.aMUSEd wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:48 am So if I try it for a week I can dl as many sound packs as I want and keep them (assuming any are worth it)?

Some of them might not work when you revert back to regular Reason 11 or 12 license if you don't have all of the devices of Reason+ (like the Algoritm, Friktion, Pattern Mutator or new devices in 12).
I've no idea what Reason Studio is? You mean Suite?

Oh I see thought I had seen people say there was still a demo available but it is only 7 days and well hidden on the website. Dont really want to give them my bank or PayPal details just to try something. On this note should I start the trial of + can I then immediately cancel it and it still let me use it for 7 days, I would assume so. Probably need to get an external hard drive anyway to clear some samples etc off my pc hard drive so when I do this I will consider the trial.antic604 wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:47 amThere's no proper demo anymore, just a 7-day free Reason+ trial.

This quite eloquently makes my point about the Combinator basically being just a toy to waste time instead of making music.THE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:57 am I've built huge and massively complex combinator systems back in the day just with 2 wheels, four knobs and four buttons.
