If you bother to read the whole thread, it is definitely the majority opinion.
Who cares how well it's designed, it doesn't sound any good.in MY opinion, this is a really well-designed synth.
Why? So you can all feel better about how pathetic you are?You come across as a bit of a misanthrope. Lighten up.
Better than the hosts we all use it in?This plugin has a great sequencer.
Like about 50 other VSTi on my SSD.Good FX section.
Undo history is, indeed, a very nice feature and, like Pigments, the workflow is very good. But IT STILL DOESN"T SOUND VERY GOOD so none of that other stuff matters. It even has an undo history which is a bit rare. Ergonomically sound. WIll get lots out of this I reckon
Blofeld is nothing like MiniFreak. Blofeld has 25 voices and is 16 part multi-timbral, so it's like 4 MiniFreaks in one little steel box. It also has three oscillators per voice and dual filters. The keyboard version has more keys, too, and they are full-sized.Cyforce wrote: Wed Jan 18, 2023 5:58 amIt`s a great synth (and greatly designed), fully agree. Especially the hardware version, place it in contrast to synths with a similar structure - e.g. Waldorf Blofeld. Maybe 50 bucks cheaper, but no keyboard, fuzzy annoying menu diving, and no editor in general...
The closest comparison I can think of is the Modal Cobalt 5S, which is a couple of hundred bucks cheaper, but is actually better featured than MiniFreak. OK, MF has one more voice but the Cobalt has 40 algorithms to MF's 22. Cobalt's sequencer is also 512 note, compared to MF's 64. The 5 axis touchpad is also pretty hard to beat. And all for 2/3 of the price.
