What do you mean with no FM? There’s no way to do FM between the oscillators? Neither with drag and drop modulations?? If it’s the case this is at least disappointing.

I'll try the demo and if it sounds nice and is fun to program, I'll grab it on sale in a few months' time. On paper it's not too exciting; no FM/PM, no variable phase angle (just on/off reset like v2) [would have liked this for psytrance bass], monophonic FX only and still no filter drive, so it's not an instabuy for me. Four filters is pretty interesting though!

I mean, the LFO's go up to 500Hz so you COULD technically keytrack LFO (to a point) and modulate OSC freq with that.Rivertropic wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:31 am What do you mean with no FM? You can also make the LFO a Saw, Tri, Square or Sine.
I tried it and it works and it's interesting. But it's obviously not straight up FM.

Yeah, tried that. One can get some extra timbre out of that.Ploki wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:01 amI mean, the LFO's go up to 500Hz so you COULD technically keytrack LFO (to a point) and modulate OSC freq with that.Rivertropic wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:31 am What do you mean with no FM? Far from ideal though.
I dunno..for this price, i would expect way more control over the fx, the osc's and filters. Bummer

What?! No variable phase angle? Delete.PieBerger wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:43 am I'll try the demo and if it sounds nice and is fun to program, I'll grab it on sale in a few months' time. That's OK for bells and other clangorous sounds, but it's useless for tonal stuff. Properly implemented TZFM/PM would have been a nice addition.Ploki wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:01 amI mean, the LFO's go up to 500Hz so you COULD technically keytrack LFO (to a point) and modulate OSC freq with that.Rivertropic wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:31 am What do you mean with no FM? It has built in analogue drift so variable phase angle is irrelevant because two OSC drift out of sync anyway.Boy Wonder wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:16 amWhat?! No variable phase angle? But yeah, i too would've wished for option to disable analogue drift + have variable phase angle.
THIS IS WHY I GO BACK TO HIVE2 EVERYTIME
It's still a very interesting synth.
yep. Keytracking LFOs is not as robust as one would hopePieBerger wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:17 amThat's OK for bells and other clangorous sounds, but it's useless for tonal stuff. If I select the 'Clean' preset, turn on the Arp and then use the modwheel, the arp speed changes while the modwheel is moving. I don't see any modulation applied in that Clean preset. Anyone else get this or know what needs to be changed to stop this behaviour?
Win10 Bitwig
EDIT: Only the VST2 version does this for me. VST3 is fine.

I mean it would be nice to have and something that clearly isn't that hard to implement nor entirely useless for the masses, since it's a standard feature on pretty much every other synth I own or have owned/used.Boy Wonder wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:16 amWhat?! Like I said in my original comment (a point that was conveniently ignored

....... Also, they finally implemented proper scaling into the plugin meaning you can have much larger text and knobs which is fantastic for me as my eye sight isn't what it used to be (and it was shit to begin with!).
..........
How does one increase the knob and text size?
thanks
