Thanks. Could you send over the bitwig file to sjoerdvankreel@gmail.com? Would be good to have an actual reference sound to test against instead of some random stuff i cook up on my own. Don't know if i can actually fix it, but, its definately worth a try.

Thanks for the demo and jup, problem confirmed. Both for karplus-strong and noise osci. Luckily the random lfo does not suffer from it (just because it is not audio rate). Thanks for reporting, goes on the backlog.

I might have an idea how to fix it for noise, for karplus-strong, not so much yet.
Would like to ask (everyone) though, how much of a practical problem is this? Is switching sample rates within a single project a common thing?

Thanks @sjoerdvankreel for the quick turnaround with the 1.3 version
I'm impressed with this synth of yours. It can be as wild as a mustang horse, and as gentle as a butterfly, with such a rich set of routing and modulations and options :)

Couple quick questions, all regarding the 1.3 preview, running in Cakewalk:
1) The right-click edit functionality for knobs doesn't work, it only presents the value in a numerical window, but no editing is possible
2) Couldn't find how to set the pitch-bend input as a modulation source (doesn't appear in any of the drop downs), and by itself, the pitchbend doesn't affect the OSC

Any idea?

You can't. It is meant to work in combination with the "pitch" modulation target. Which is in turn most likely to work in combination with the "pitch wheel" (MIDI CP) mod source, but anything will do. For example if you have lfo1 set to bipolar, then set lfo1 as mod source and osc1 pitch as mod target, you can effectively control the range of the lfo affecting pitch from +/1 semitone to +/-24 semitones. But indeed by itself it does nothing.

[EDIT] btw if you want to do "manual" pitch modulation like with midi pitch wheel, but without the hardware, you can use one of the CVB knobs as mod source.

Where I'm concerned, the FX only includes a filter, waveshaper, delay, and reverb. All of these are allowed, unless the question is more specifically aimed toward the "heavy" use of the waveshaper. However: if only the synth is allowed in the first place (which also includes the waveshaper), I still don't see an issue in even that. 🤷‍♂️

Any use of the Infernal fx plugin is fine. Still considered "part of the synth" in this challenge.

Just to be clear, the fx is just a subset of the instrument. The only difference is that for the synth, the "voice" section feeds the global section, and for fx, external audio source feeds the global section. But other than that anything that the fx can do, the synth can also do.

Thanks for all the help and support @sjoerdvankreel. It turned out that I was using the 1.2 version. 1.3 is working just as it should in Cakewalk

Here is the CLAP version: https://sjoerdvankreel.github.io/infernal-synth/.
It has (should have) feature-parity with vst3 version, but, no polyphonic modulation yet (that should also be a stepping-stone towards midi MPE btw).

The CLAP version does not seem to suffer this problem (i have yet to thoroughly test, but its easy to reproduce with vst3, cant make it to happen with CLAP yet). Of course that's not a guarantee the bug is actually gone.

V1.4 drops the "generic" build and has a new preset format which can be shared between vst3/clap versions. As a result of those there is unfortunately also some breaking changes (however 1.4 can replace v1.3-versioned vst3). See https://github.com/sjoerdvankreel/infer ... istory.txt for changelog.
