Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

This wording is unfortunately misleading. The detailed version comparison shows that all Mix FX effects are subscription-only.Fidelitymusic wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 4:36 pm Is anyone, who hasn't purchased the add-on in the past, able to get CTC-1 Mix FX to show under the Mix FX menu?
Says all 3 are included under the header "MORE THAN 45 NATIVE EFFECTS INCLUDED" but upon checking I don't see them: https://www.fender.com/pages/fender-studio-pro (https://www.fender.com/pages/fender-studio-pro)

I have S1 Artist 5, the upgrade still shows at $99 for me, which is more than fair!

Haven't installed my copy yet - but have been chatting with a bunch of my "usuals" today - smooth sailing for the most part - a few little things discovered here and there - but no major emergencies that I know of.HcDoom wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:49 pm Fuc4ing sh1t crashing all the time and sound is constantly chopped like asio cpu is on 100%. Does anyone else experience this?
Back to Presonus S1P7 in the mean time.

So you (still) can't get perpetual licenses for them at all anymore... well, let's see how well that turns out for them.

Matty Harris just made a video on YT, what ever about the new features, changing the name is daft IMHO, It had a rep before that was built over years, inserting Fender in there is just confusing and even misleading. Is it guitar software ? will be an assumption by new interested buyers. Anyway best of luck to them.

OK well I've opened a ticket with support and screenshotted that page - it is entirely misleading and I hope they can be persuaded to include them. It clearly says 'Fender Studio Pro’s core library'.jens wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:56 pm*ouch*Hius wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:21 pmThis wording is unfortunately misleading. Yeah, I really love the British Console and would like to have access to it without a subscriptionaMUSEd wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 11:03 pm

Yes, totally misleading - in fact I was about to finalize my upgrade purchase, but now I'm holding back. These MixFX would have been what would have pushed me over. Nothing in V6 through V8 is as enticing for me personally. (I was actually being dead-set on never upgrading until they finally fixed the messy take-system, which going by the release notes they still didn't (and which they might never))

So, when I start a clean project - all is fine. But when I open tracks produced in v7 it distorts like crazy. I wanted to use v8 for the clients mix and couldnt do it in v8 due to forementioned issue, hence why I went back to v7 to finish it.Vocalpoint Studios wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:54 pmHaven't installed my copy yet - but have been chatting with a bunch of my "usuals" today - smooth sailing for the most part - a few little things discovered here and there - but no major emergencies that I know of.HcDoom wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:49 pm Fuc4ing sh1t crashing all the time and sound is constantly chopped like asio cpu is on 100%. EDIT - conclusion - it appears projects done in v7 or prior are not compatible with v8 (distorted sound and crashes)

Not sure I agree with that. But I have not tested this myself (yet).HcDoom wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 11:26 pmEDIT - conclusion - it appears projects done in v7 or prior are not compatible with v8 (distorted sound and crashes)
But if this was a factor - there would have been massive pushback across the forums out there today.
Not seeing a rampant surge of complaints of users opening prior projects.

Missed it by *that* much. Bought V7 in early December of '24. I wonder what their database curve was like for expired free upgrade dates. This seems to me to be the sort of thing they should have been pushing hard during BF and the holidays, when we were all feeling splurgy. Except for that curve.
I know a lot of you guys are happy with what I consider fairly exotic features, but I don't see anything that would motivate me to move from V7.
I'm primarily a guitarist, and could not care less about the obsolete Mustang models. The only thing that will force me to buy this is if they end up offering Tonemaster Pro models at a decent price. Which they'll never do, since it would cannibalize the hardware sales.
Will revisit in a couple of years.

3.3 Reverse single/double click behavior for instruments and effects
We looked at how people use the instrument and effects slots inside the Console and decided to reverse the single/double-click behavior for improved workflow and more consistency with other DAWs.
In Fender Studio Pro, a single click on any of these slots opens the plug-in or instrument editor, whereas a double-click expands or collapses the Micro View for that device.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I give it 12-18 months before they change back for Studio One 9.
The past few years of marketing has been like watching Sideshow Bob stepping on rakes. They mess things up and change back.
