I acquired two Unique DBE rack mounts back in 1992. Found out later they were an American version of the Bit 1. Can't say I was overly impressed by them then since I was still using a DX-7s, a MemoryMoog and a DPM VS W/ Lync controller as my central boards. Pretty sure I had a Kawai K3m in the same rack. I can't remember any kind of sweeping sound I hear from this video. Although most of those other sounds seem to be pretty doable in anything these days. I think the rack I had during that time was largely left in the shadow. I do think I should have taken more time in using them than I did though. They were good and solid instruments.

I passed up on the chance of a K3 and bought the K1M instead, still a good little unit but I do regret now going for the K3 Also.

Our latest synth gem is coming on Tuesday, March 31, at 10 AM PDT USA (1:00PM EDT, 6:00PM UK, 5:00PM UTC/GMT).

Late guess (did anyone already guess this one?):

GEM PK 4900.
Advertised as a digitally controlled analog. Three mixable sections with cool names - Instastrings, Polytron, and Monotron Digital Synthesizer. Very much up Cherry Audio’s alley, I think.

Presumably used on Radiohead’s Kid A album. Hence “A” true synth “GEM”.

A d50 clone would be nice

This instead of full-on 12 DCO six-voice Crumar BIT series? Pass. BIT would be a great opportunity to somewhat replace missing ITB Matrix-6, to some degree.

So basically about the same as Siel Cruise, a mono synth with a poly string section, just two OSC to that mono bit instead of one with Siel. And why is this a total riot the whole town was alarmed about?

My money goes to TAL and Swayed, and if I want cherries, I have a bunch of them in my freezer, thanks heaps, eh :P
