I built Wavefield, a spectral filter plugin that uses animated wavetable frame shapes as filter curves. Today is launch day. WHAT IT DOES Instead of adjusting fixed band filters and modulating, you load a wavetable and its waveform becomes the filter. Each frame in the table is a different spectral gain curve, and Wavefield animates through them in real time. This makes getting complex spectral shaping very easy. THREE PROCESSING MODES · Magnitude - maps wavetable frames directly to per-bin FFT gain curves. Precise spectral shaping, no phase artifacts. · Phase Warp - a variant of magnitude mode with frequency-dependent phase rotation and harmonic dispersion. Slightly detuned, metallic, and alien timbres without touching the magnitude curve. · Spectral IR - treats each frame as an impulse response and convolves it with the spectrum. Denser, more smeared character. WAVETABLE POSITION MODULATION · Free-running LFO · Host tempo sync with standard note divisions · Step sequencer - jumps between keyframe positions with optional per-step gating · Manual pin mode for static shapes · Forward / reverse / ping-pong playback · Trim range to constrain playback to any portion of the table BUILT-IN WAVETABLE EDITOR Draw custom filter shapes directly into up to 20 keyframes per wavetable cycle. Wavefield interpolates smoothly between them. A library of waveform presets is available within the editor as starting points - filter sweeps, formant shapes, vowel morphs, FM-derived envelopes, and more. Separate main preset system for saving and recalling full plugin states. STEREO MODE Offsets the L and R channels to different wavetable positions simultaneously, creating frequency-dependent stereo width that evolves with the filter movement. Not mid-side, not a width knob - no equivalent exists in other plugins. And it's mono-compatible.
