Yeah, I think it's a great and worthwhile project as well.
Always there are the naysayers though aren't there?

Why not do both?
Donate to your favourite / preferred aid agency as well as buying this CD?
I see no reason why people can't do one AND the other.

Better than crossing the road and looking the other way, eh?
Plus, it's just possible that people might buy this CD but haven't donated elsewhere as well.

Best of both worlds as far as I can see.

I might have some time to look into making the distribution here in Canada. Maybe I could get a deal from a dupe house here, since it's for a good cause and I'm already a customer.
How would that work exactly? Who pays for dupe and shipping, and who collect the money? Is the cover artwork already been done and through prepress, or would that have to be done also?

Suffering a big hangover at the moment, so struggling to organise things at the moment. .

The cover artwork is being done. Though we might have to get them printed in each country rather than shipping the artwork. But we are yet to work this out.

Well, the dupe house I do business with does everything, and I think it's better that way. Could you imaine the nightmare if the CD's are done at one place, and printing and packaging done on another and there's a problem with the CD's? Who is gonna pay for claims and repackaging the lot?

When I said prepress, I meant if the artwork was press ready (proper bleed, fonts, dpi, color separation etc...).

We should hopefully have a decision on the tracks we are going to use by the end of the day. I'll post in here when we do and update the website, and I'll contact all the people we choose.

Tis a tough decision. And I'm sure we will be bickering all night long about it!

I apologise for being a bit crap on the organisation front today. I blame the alcohol... also had lots of unrelated issues to deal with today as well.

I'm sorry if your track didn't make it onto this list but It really was a hard decision and as we had 33 tracks to choose from a lot had to go.

Can the people's who's tracks have been chosen produce a WAV mixdown of their song with no Compression/limiting on the master bus (we are going to perform mastering.) Can you also mixdown the wav file in the bitrate and sample rate at which you recorded at, please do not downsample your render if you worked at a sampling rate higher than 44khz. Preferablly 24bit or above. We are aiming to get all the wav's by the end of tomorrow. If you do not have server space then we can provide some. (PM me for details). Please PM me with a link to the WAV file So I can pass the details onto the mastering house.

Cheers Again. We're hoping to have the CD ready as soon as possible. So keep the pre-orders coming in! We've made a fair amount of money already! . But I'm hoping we can sell a lot lot lot more ...

Oh and also you can preview some of the artwork for the CD cover at the Pay site now as well. Though this is actually a photo of the painting donated by the italian artist Emiliano Movio, as aposed to the scanned version that will be on the final CD.
