Can't say I agree with you, I don't use fruity (but have a friend who uses it a great deal - & makes very nicely produced house type music, obviously using respected third party plugins etc). Anyway cheers the above quote had me spitting coffee on my keyboard... mashed potatoes & POOmetamorphosis wrote:It is full of mashed potatoes and POO.

professional music? with FL? what means professional?
technically well made music or quality music? if it means quality, I really dont think it is possible to make pro-music just with FL...

It's been proven that, quantitatively, there is no difference in audio processing processing between most applications. As such, your assertion that the sound quality is inferior in FL Studio is incorrect, and more importantly, groundless.pseudonoise wrote:I think it depends on the song, personaly. Tracks with relatively little sonic complexity, sure.. why not?
But if you want to hit a trent reznor, or Moby level of production quality I don't think so. Simply because of the sound quality.
Really high quality filter and effects especially.
For most hip-hop it doesnt matter, trip-hop moreso, and then beyond that - definitly get something better.
The other question is, do you have the time to master these suites? Mastering Nuendo is a slightly more challenging task than Fruity Loops!
It probably does take more time to master Nuendo because it DOES so much more, so it's a much more convoluted application. It has many more features - which is not to say that a "professional" needs these features. Certain people need different features, like Surround Sound or PDC. Most people don't.
You can create the music you want in ANY application, to greatest extent. It's YOU who has to do the creating, after all - the application just writes it all down and processes it. If you work best in FL Studio, nobody can tell you you're "not a professional" because that's simply how you like to work.

well if the original poster has been using Fruity since v2.0 and still doesn't know if it's capable of top-notch production, then he's obviously not got to grips with it yet... but if you want to improve your skill fast, then Fruity is a good way to go because of it's quick intuitive workflow (though I know there are some people don't seem to get it)
I've been using it since v2.6 and never looked back (but then I don't use any external gear or live recording)

It's the person using the software that makes something 'quality'. I used to bag on FL, but realized that most of the horrid music that comes out of it is from those that only use the stock plugins and synths. For the most part, I tend to buy software from smaller companies. While their products aren't as well known, I find that I tend to get better support in many cases. There is no end all be all program out there. Hell, I've heard people make some decent stuff with Buzz too.
