I'm loving the sound of AT 3 so far. But, I do have one major problem. I cannot play along with tunes like I could with AT2. The speed trainer will not play audio diesct out i.e.,dry. It only plays the track through AT3. I sure hope I am just missing something trivial.

Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon

I believe there is an issue with playing WMA's in the new speed trainer.

By this I mean there is a few of us with the same issue. WAV and MP3 files have loaded and played correctly for me. As a temporary fix I have converted a few tracks I needed this weekend to MP3 to get around the issue until IK provide and answer or fix.

I have rasied a technical support issue for this as i'm sure many others have. The more that raise it with IK the more of an understandiong they'll have.

This is the only thing i've had go wrong so far.

Just noticed this, haven't read beyond your message so in case anybody else didn't say so - he's uploaded it :)

They offer an upgrade price this time, but if you already have jimi, metal, fender and amp 2 you are screwed and dont get a better upgrade price!

Gotta LOVE that "fair for all" ik policy...

it's the disgusting greed of this company which makes me loathe them so much. I wouldn't send another cent their way if their products wrote me worldwide smash hits.

Its $349/£269 new, $269/£199 crossgrade and $199/£149 if you are upgrading from AT2, ATM, ATJH, ATF or Ampeg SVX.

If you had all the like me you no doubt had some jam points to knock the price down a bit further. I got it for £91 in the end. A complete bargian for such a quality product.

Also it sounds like alot of people have a least a couple of the different Amplitube packs especially after the 4 for 1 offer in the tail end of last year.

So I would think we're all more or less in the same bout. IMO I think the pricing is fair and definetly worth the asking price. And I hope that paying it keeps IK in business to keep provided quality products :)

I did the same thing at first. The trick is to load your MP3 or whatever onto tracks 2, 3 or 4 and make sure the "Amplitube" button on the right is set to off. Then go back to track 1 (which will have Amplitube on) and jam along.

Basically, Amplitube 3 standalone has a four track recorder that runs four instances of Amplitube (one on each track). When you load your audio file in, it's expecting a dry guitar track by default so it's processing that track through Amplitube. You need to turn that off and then jam along on another track.

It's a little weird and not entirely intuitive at first, but once you figure it out, you understand why they did it that way.

...and if you indeed purchased all of those outright you received what we do feel was a very fair upgrade discount. It was all covered in those threads. Plus of course you have Squids deals of the century to add value that even we can't.

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:AT Fender just sounds more accurate overall IMO. The Bassman and Deluxe are two perfect examples. The ones in AT3 sound great, but the ones in AT Fender just sound more authentic. And there's nothing like the Twin and Vibroverb in Fender IMO. They sound great.

Overall, if you like the AT3 Fender amps you should definitely look at expanding them with Amplitube Fender.
Aah, cool, I'll check out the demo again. (My computer went down and that's about the only good thing that results from a hard crash) RE - DEMO! Of course now I have to answer that age old question .............. Just how many Fenders do I really need?

Once I get a new laptop (hopefully in March) I shall be taking Amplitube on the road full time. I'll carry a spare laptop or my old Zoom G7 for while just in case but to have such versitility and at the level of AT3 is unreal.

No more miking up or luggin several amps around :D
Right, but that's my whole problem. I don't want to carry a laptop to the gig at all. I suppose I could get a cheap one but I'd still be left with the security problem. I wouldn't be able to relax on breaks, wondering if my rig would be there when I got back. And then there's the fragility, stability problem.

There's also the instant patch switching problem but that's kind of a tangent.

The solution (for me) is something like the muse receptor or even a simple rack FX box that can host A3 and be controlled as usual via the Stomp IO or somesuch.

Thanks FBET! Works a treat!

If you think the Mac Mini/Mini PC route is a bit more safe, we have a GPU Stage Case: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/stompio/add ... =stagecase

I guess it would be nice to have a processor in something like the Stomp IO for live use instead of needing a laptop, but not sure if this is possible or how expensive it would make the Stomp IO. You never know maybe a Stomp IO 2 with this feature may be something in the future.

I guess it differs from venue to venue and the type of gig but I've never seen or had anyone jumping up on stage to try and steal something infront of an audience. You could always use a laptop lock and wrap it around something. may not be 100% secure but by the time someonse yanked it enough someone would have spotted the little theif.

As for the instant patch issue there is no delay in changing patches with te Stomp IO, even if there tens of banks away its an instant change.

Truth?? I mean, have you actually tested it? Because I'm curious what the Stomp I/O does different to make patches switch seamlessly. Be really interested if someone from IK could comment on this.

Yes, we boast instant switching without pops, noise, or dropouts. There are a couple StompIO users in this or maybe the other threads who could chime in too.
