click the part above the "wet/dry" knob and it'll "stick" with that wet/dry ratio when you scroll through the presets. honestly, this is so worth buying, it's the best reverb i've ever used, hard or soft.breakmixer wrote:Tried this yesterday, while the sound of the reverb itself was extremely transparent/clear(best way I can describe it) - I found all the presets set too wet and not very subtle(i.e dryer maybe), I found this annoying. I find this with the D16 Toraverb too. I'm on the fence currently about making a purchase! I.e I'd rather have presets closer to what I want then tweak carefully as I don't really fully understand reverb settings.

Well, it's a reverb experiment, so it's mixed rather wet. It's me on the keyboard playing samples.jens wrote:interesting... sounds very sweet! Aha, thanks - yes I can hear the sound, it's just that I like reverb to be more subtle and I found the presets designed to be rather extreme, maybe it was mostly the wet/dry ratio, every preset I was moving the slider down.darkflame23 wrote:click the part above the "wet/dry" knob and it'll "stick" with that wet/dry ratio when you scroll through the presets. honestly, this is so worth buying, it's the best reverb i've ever used, hard or soft.breakmixer wrote:Tried this yesterday, while the sound of the reverb itself was extremely transparent/clear(best way I can describe it) - I found all the presets set too wet and not very subtle(i.e dryer maybe), I found this annoying. Again thanks for the tip

SiMOD, you know how much a admire your work, but for the first time... well... ummm... I felt it was "too much" (TOO MUSH as they say hereSampleconstruct wrote:Well, it's a reverb experiment, so it's mixed rather wet. As you are who you are, you can sure WET our appetite with DRY(er) signals.
What exact guitar library are you playing ?
The example from yesterday (or was it the say before ? I lost track...) was SUBLIME.
For quite some time I strive for that kind of sound with VVV (smooth.. or, in layman language : "that thing that sounds like a lot is happening on the sides without drowning the stuff that goes on the middle")
Waiting for the PC BETA...

Too wet, just right, too dry anyone
All of these track are just impros, jams, experiments to relax/calm down from my other daily audio work, so I just hit record and play, do some quick tweaking/mixing, done. I don't try to create appetite of any sort, just sharing my experiments.
The samples are Orangetree Acoustic Guitar, customized preset, processed with Twin Tube exciter/saturator and parallel compression - NI VC 76.

The presets are all 100% wet, and are designed to be used on a send.breakmixer wrote:Aha, thanks - yes I can hear the sound, it's just that I like reverb to be more subtle and I found the presets designed to be rather extreme, maybe it was mostly the wet/dry ratio, every preset I was moving the slider down.darkflame23 wrote:click the part above the "wet/dry" knob and it'll "stick" with that wet/dry ratio when you scroll through the presets. honestly, this is so worth buying, it's the best reverb i've ever used, hard or soft.breakmixer wrote:Tried this yesterday, while the sound of the reverb itself was extremely transparent/clear(best way I can describe it) - I found all the presets set too wet and not very subtle(i.e dryer maybe), I found this annoying. I'm working on it.Tp3 wrote: W.E...W.A.N.T...T.H.E...B.E.T.A...T.O.O !.!.! [Pee-See USERS]
There is a LOT of updating of frameworks and installing of new SDKs that I need to get up and running for Windows (AAX SDK, new Juce stuff, Pace Eden SDK for AAX plugins only). I did a lot of that work on Thursday.
I'll let y'all know when the Windows beta is ready. It should be sometime next week. Until then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the wintertime. Unless you are in the Southern hemisphere, in which case, enjoy the summertime!

hey, everything's cool... I'm cruising... (well, not really. but it is inevitable, now that the beta is at the hands of selected few).valhallasound wrote:I'm working on it.Tp3 wrote: W.E...W.A.N.T...T.H.E...B.E.T.A...T.O.O !.!.! [Pee-See USERS]

Talking about hemispheres (this time, in our brains):
my left hemisphere is cooling me off, telling me "it's done when it's done".
my right hemisphere can only yell and shout (metaphorically speaking): "ah.wan.dis.verb.now.!.and.ah.wan.it.smooth.and.dirty".
Take your time, Sean.

I know what you mean. In 2011 and 2012, I launched new products right before Christmas. Totally stressful for me, due to all the family holiday stuff, and the launches were competing with end-of-year sales.Tp3 wrote: Take your time, Sean.

This year, the updates ARE the new products for me. AAX took up a lot of time and energy (as did a bunch of non-Valhalla, non-work stuff). Fortunately, the new VintageVerb algorithms could count as a new product, as they really extend the sonic range of that plugin.

Looking forward to this update
So as I understand, the "Dirty" algorithms are based on a Lexicon 224, right?
And what are the "Smooth" ones based upon?
(Sorry if this has been posted here already.)

More 224XL-ish. No access to a 224 here in Seattle, but I found a studio with a 224XL.Novalis wrote:Looking forward to this update![]()

The "Smooth" algorithms are kinda Lexicon-ish, from the mid-80s time period. I've modified them with a mix of older & fixed point artifacts (10/12 bit floating point gain convertors, 8 kHz/15 bandwidths in 1970s/1970s modes) and some modern updates that result in a much smoother decay than the old school algorithms. And what are the "Smooth" ones based upon?
