The sad thing is, I love what this thing does. IMO, it is the best granular synth out there hands down. But the dev? Forget it. Lost cause.

Just bought this synth and I think its good. User interface is so intuitive. I learned it in less than an hour.

Hi Guys,
I own the plugin but need a new installer, has anyone managed to get in touch with the dev? He's not replying to my emails and I can't use the plugin, super frustrating!
cheers

The download links in my purchase email(s) are still working.
[edit: but those are the update emails he sent later, the very first one is dead, maybe other people only got that one?]

The guy might get anxiety attacks or something.
You get what you pay for. The biggest problem I have is that if you lose your install file or if there is an update that gets sent to the wrong email there is no way to recover.

Either his business is just not important to him or he can't handle dealing with the people part. Look, he admitted to me in an email when we were working together that he's terrible when it comes to communication. In fact, I was surprised we had as many communications as we did. But that was when The Mangle was still in beta and we were trying to get it working. Now that it's relatively stable, the need for communicating just isn't there anymore.
We lost touch so long ago that I eventually just gave up.
And the sad part is, I love this thing. I made a freaking monster size library for it and I still didn't run out of ideas. To this day one of my favorite sound generation tools.
But what can I tell you? It is what it is.

Me too, I love this synth.
All I can say is: make a backup of everything you pay for or get for free. Just in case.
Now when by accident I would have lost a backup, or I forgot to make one, I would of course try to contact the company. But if I had not backed up my file, I would consider myself partly responsible for the problem.
With a price tag of 20 Pounds, I would chalk it up to experience and work my way home.
Iow: I would get myself a new one.
As for upgrades: some designers consider their work done when they release their creation, and some release as quickly as possible and then work with updates. I guess the Mangle is a finished product, and I like it the way it is. Yes, it's always possible to find things that could be added, but when I make a purchase, I always consider the product as is.
N.B. : you can also try to contact e-junkie with your original documents.

I had imagined something similiar, e.g anxiety, or depression. It would certainly explain why someone who seems (when he is around) to be helpful, and affable, could just completely disappear for long stretches at a time.Dasheesh wrote:The guy might get anxiety attacks or something.
Given he has a talent for development, and wants to share these products, it would make sense to sell them at what they are worth (they are currently hugely underpriced), if for nothing else than to pay someone to help with p.r and customer service
