Well... I have no doubt that the one or the other will miss a few sales. But, I consider the Arturia and Synapse Audio buyers to be different crowds. As has been mentioned, many people who buy Arturia won't even know that there's another emulation upcoming, it's more of a KVR thing that people pluck their hair over this.

Boy-howdy. I’ve got such a mixed opinion of Arturia. On one hand, they’ve let their legacy customers down by letting their old plugins languish. OTOH, they’ve created some of the best emulations of digital and analog synths available, and provide really great prices to V Collection owners. I passed on v7, because I wasn’t excited by a CZ emulator, and I already have good Synthi and Mellowtron emulations, but when I saw my upgrade price of $149, which wouldn’t be a bad price for a single plugin of the quality of OB-Xa V, I started playing with Synthi V and I was blown away.electro wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 1:14 pm Synapse has credibility and I'm sure their OB-Xa emulation is going to be spot on. Serious people already know Legend rules and will be looking forward to OB-Xa regardless.
Arturia's V Collection is an amazing value especially since Synclavier V was added, a perfect package to add to a bare DAW. What they need to do however is refine perfect that Oberheim Matrix 12 in a new version Collection V8. That would have been the better move than the OB-Xa.
So, basically... I’ll end up with both.

I like the FXs in OBsession too and for certain patches i had created they are an important part of the sound design.

Thanks for sharing......
Indeed I liked what I heard at about 1:34.
To hear it I had to (in firefox), right click, copy link, paste into a new tab and it played here.

I would consider myself presumptuous to take your good deed, and almost DEMAND you redo it without fx..
....
I accept it for what it was, as is and appreciate it.
Personally, I almost always turn off my effects in Legend everytime I use it. I prefer my Minimoog sounds dry mostly (or use external effects).....
Time will tell if I feel this way about Obsession too.

Personal preference:
a) I wanted to hear raw, unprocessed sound of Obsession.
b) I don't like (to put it mildly) Synapse FX. 100 times out of 100 I don't use reverb on Legend.
