Neither in Ableton Live (macOS) as it should, but Ableton is smart and at least knows the last used knob.

Demo here.

Great to finally see Rapid on mac, liking what I'm hearing so far. :phones:

*edit*
Unlike Avenger, I can run multiple instances and there's no hint of the fan rushing to rescue the GPU...but
I can still see that CPU almost doubles with GUI open (even with just the browser screen). I've not really noticed GUI's having such an effort before Avenger and Rapid. CPU-wise it seems more hungry than Avenger.

-The installer is not verified. In default the installer will not open!
-One of the versions caused Studio One to completely freeze during the first plugin scan. A mac restart was necessary. I cannot say which one because both got blacklisted. I was not able to reproduce afterwards.
-Even in HQ 60fps the ui felt very sluggish. (AU+VST)
-Right after loading a preset I get massive CPU spikes and dropouts. They hold up to 2 seconds. (AU+VST)
-The preset loading time from my SSD is pretty high. For example "Splitted Caribic Sunset 2" takes up to 6 or 7 seconds. (AU+VST)
-Touch automation is not working. (AU)
-Sometimes while tuning knobs the ui starts flickering and I can see the mouse arrow. (AU)
-Knob handling is uncommon: If I turn a knob to 100% and keep moving the mouse, I have to move the mouse the same distance in opposite direction before the knob is reacting to the mouse movement again. I expected the mouse movement to "clip" and as soon as I move it into another direction the knob should reflect this. (AU+VST)
-I played a saw and automated a macro to control the LP filter. When automating this macro the filter closes as expected but it sounded very steppy. (AU+VST) I uploaded a short clip: https://soundcloud.com/user-885002749/r ... ionlpsteps

Tested with Presonus Studio One, 44.1khz, 256samples buffersize, MacOS Sierra

Yep, these three things really bother me too. All the other stuff I could (currently) live with as it seems to perform overall quite well on my system. But the knob movement is a pain.

Besides that I am quite suprised how good it sounds. It's one of those synths with some sort of "mojo". I own Avenger and think it's an unbelievable good synth - but it lacks of "mojo".

Mojo or not, going back to the synths that actually work. It was a good talk guys

Knobs are very unresponsive when GUI displays wave form. Fairly high CPU here, not unusable but not in the low -med territory. It certainly sounds nice .

I couldn't resist and bought it anyway. It just sounds too good. I am confident that the few flaws on Mac will be fixed soon.
Mirko Ruta did an amazing job with these factory presets. Sound and GUI wise I prefer Rapid over Avenger - It's more musical to me, it's easier to get to the point - sound wise.
Great synth! :tu:

Hi at all.
At the moment i create a new Extension for Parawave RAPID. All Sounds you hear are presets for it. The drums are also synthetic and live generated, I doesn' use any samples. Just RAPID synthesizer. Hope you like it. :-)

Bought it last night... Definitely up there with my favourite synths.

It sounds great and to think you can stack it with 8 layers. Great job chaps!
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Any update on fixing Mac issues ?

huh? I thought this was a wavetable synth so surely even the built in sounds are sample based? Does it do physical modelling too?

Wavetable is NOT = sample based. This word created a lot of confusion when the Windows soundcards appeared in the end of 80s and during 90s, because they had, in fact, a ROM sample memory that was called "wavetable". But wavetable synths (in the way Waldorf created the term) are in fact tables of (in that case 64) synthetic single cycle waves, that can be read statically (just one wave of the table) or dynamically (sweeping the wavetable, changing from one wave to another during the same note). These could be gererated thorugh purely additive synthesis or through resynthesis, but in any case, they were not "samples".

OTOH, Rapid can also use samples, and it has some built-in (althoug, AFAIK, we cannot import our own, at least for the time being).
