Yet another example of using Windows for music production LoL

Post

Hopefully they come release a fantom soundset. I'll fully buy in then.

I can' t seem to find the acoustic /electric bass patches on the srx7 cloud .
Since srx7 is essentially four jv boards combined .
Vintage synth +keyboards of 60's+bass/Drums etc..
All the acoustic basses are missing from jv bass/Drums ..( collab between roland /spectrasonics )

SRX KEYBOARDS is a completely authentic, virtual recreation of an early 2000s SRX expansion board, originally available only for compatible Roland hardware synths. The original SRX expansion compiled multiple SR-JV80 boards, collecting the very best Roland keyboard sounds from the previous decade into a single expansion.

Absolutely not an issue with Windows, but Roland's sloppy coding for the Cloud Manager.

Probably because Spectrasonics didn't want to give out those samples (they could be a part of Trilian).

Just had a look at the SRX-07 manual that is available at the Roland website.
The original expansion seemed to contain 860 waveforms while the new SRX Keyboards plugin contains 619 waveforms in the SRX expansion. The missing ones mostly seem to be Drum and Bass waveforms.

For example the "OB Bass" synth bass waveform is found at waveform No. 348 in the plugin while it is found at No. 438 in the SRX-07 hardware expansion board. The waveforms 348 to 437 found in the hardware expansion seem to be missing in the plugin.

Still i think that the waveforms included in the plugin sound great and there is tons of them for doing your own patches from scratch (not to forget the 1083 samples/waveforms from the JV-1080 plugin that are included too).

SRX Orchestra vs SRX-06 missing many vocal waves from sr-jv80-13 Vocal Collection too :(

I had the Roland Cloud installed on a 30 day trial back in June, I'm thinking of subscribing for the monthly thing today however... when I last had it installed and was using the synths etc when I was turning the knobs etc for instance on the TR909 it would leave the values (graphics) on my screen in Logic and would even stay on my screen after closing my daw forcing me to restart my mbp...anyone else have this?

Post

Hey Rob- I’ve not experienced this,(I’m on Mac/Logic) and there have a been a few dot releases for the 808/909 so maybe try again?

Yeah say I turned the knob value to 255 or whatever then if I forgot to re click that exact same knob and closed the plugin then the value would stay on my screen even after closing Logic. I'm gonna go subscribe today and see what happens this time.

Cheers

100% sure it's because of this. What's interesting though is that in the Integra-7, Spectrasonics waveforms are included.

Nobody said anything about drums .
Although these are also missing , so are all the acoustic / upright basses , and these sound pretty good , as these are originally spectrasonics samples .
The plugin sounds great , apart from the missing ac.bass patches ( around 55 ) everything sounds 99% identical to the integra ...even better: the plugin has more effect and an insert reverb

Here it is again.. doesn't matter what synth plugin I load, in this case it's the TR808 the number 7 left on the screen. Sometimes it can be 2 or 3 values after just turning knobs.. these stay even after closing plugins and my daw..

Oh and even at a buffer size of 512 I get cpu overload???? This is a clean i7 MBP lol so after 30 days I'm afraid this lot is gone off my machine unless the hogging gets fixed

After closing plugins

After closing Logic (spot the number 7)

Anyone else get this or is it just me?

A few more details after again having a look at the manual:

From the 860 waveforms/samples of the original SRX-07 expansion board those 619 waveforms are included in the plugin:
- Waveforms 001-347
- Waveforms 438-679
- Waveforms 831-860

That means that those are missing in the plugin:
- Waveforms 348-437 (= Acoustic Basses)
- Waveforms 680-830 (= Drums + Percussion)

I have not fully checked that but the missing waveforms seem to correspond to those in the "SR-JV80-10 Bass & Drums" Wave Expansion Board. As aother mentioned above those samples seemed to be done by Spectrasonics. The amount of 241 waveforms included there correspond to the amount of waveforms missing in the SRX Keyboards plugin.

While there are also Piano, E-Piano, Organ and other Keys based presets the majority of the 393 Presets (in 4 banks) in the plugin seem to focus on synth sounds and/or layers that contain a synth sound (e.g. Piano + Pad layers).
