I've decided not to buy Falcon at this time. While I can see it has some very powerful features, the inability to program the arpeggiator to a work with an external groove is a major deal breaker.
The manual states "RESOLUTION sets the beat value of each step, from 32 bars down to 64th note triplet. STEP LENGTH sets the duration of the trigger within the step duration; the lower the Step Length value, the more staccato each step will be. A Step Length Value >100% will result in each note slightly overlapping the next note. GROOVE AMOUNT [% knob] chooses the amount of swing applied to the grid."
If I was only doing a style music, where quantized 1/16th notes or triplets is good enough, with some kind of manual automated swing, perhaps it's okay ... but if I have a jazz groove, there is no way for me to sync material coming from other parts of my DAW to work with this instrument. The fact that I cannot even manually program this is even more of a disappointment.
I'll reconsider Falcon *if* they update their VST with a feature like this. This isn't a unique feature. RMX/midi file -> Omnisphere/Trillian has this feature (it's called Groove Lock). You can also drag a RMX/midi file into it's modulation window and get modulation timing that way. Alchemy had/has it too though you had to tweak it at times. Ableton Live has a groove feature, but you cannot use it to drive it's arpeggiator. I'm sure there are other VSTs that can do this, but they aren't in my arsenal.

Uses Live 9 and lots of VSTs

This is a nice feature request and will be definitely considered. We agree this is just about matching the MIDI timing with the arp notes ?
Thanks !
Thanks !

Yes.otristan wrote:This is a nice feature request and will be definitely considered. We agree this is just about matching the MIDI timing with the arp notes ?

It would also be nice to be able to drag a midi file on top of a modulator multi envelope to get all of it's timing points as well.

The license just showed upSJ_Digriz wrote:In addition to being PST and daylight saving time, you have add that most of those guys are muso's. So you have to add 5 hours to get the musician standard time deviation. So sometime around noon = 7am PST .. of course that is +-5 hours depending on how the gig went last night.paulbreeze wrote:It's early in the morning for them ... :ceasless wrote:But now I'm waiting for the license key from JRR Shop. It's taking a while (most of today).

Pacific Time (PT)
Not sure how that bodes for last night's gig, but it turned out alright for me anyway
EDIT: Is the 'Falcon Factory' content just a ufs file of the same things that ship with the Falcon installer?

Not sure I understand what you mean but there are two separate things
1. an UFS which includes the wavetable, IR's and other program resources (included in the installer)
2. A factory soundbank with presets (with a dedicated download)

Oh, just for the record. I contacted support as instructed about how to license the workstation or whatever I need to do in order to create UFS files and it's been at least 5 days and nobody has gotten back to me.
So what do I do next? I'd really like to create UFS files for when I release my sound library which I hope to get done sometime in January.

It could be useful indeed.Elenesski wrote: It would also be nice to be able to drag a midi file on top of a modulator multi envelope to get all of it's timing points as well.
Question is, do you only modify the current point timing or add as many point as there is MIDI note ?

Our support guy is really under the water right now.wagtunes wrote:Oh, just for the record. I contacted support as instructed about how to license the workstation or whatever I need to do in order to create UFS files and it's been at least 5 days and nobody has gotten back to me.

In any case, creating UFS file is done afterwards, so you can already create your sound library.
The process is quite simple and done by us.

I was told I had to buy a license for UVI Workstation or something like that, which lead me to believe that I could create my own UFS files. If that's not the case and the process is done by you, then I assume this is a service that I pay for. If so, where can I find out the cost of this service? There is nothing posted on your web site.

You contact UVI directly via e-mail, since it's discussed on case by case basis. Same thing like when licensing Kontakt Player.

Well, I did as instructed, and it's been almost a week and no word. So I don't know what to do from here.EvilDragon wrote:You contact UVI directly via e-mail, since it's discussed on case by case basis. Same thing like when licensing Kontakt Player.

If I understand what your asking; I'd add as many timing points as there are in the midi file, but make it clear that it means that the best midi files will be those where the file is represented as a groove/melody instead of a harmony. Harmony midi files will create multiple control points at the same time and produce potentially undesired side effects.otristan wrote:It could be useful indeed.Elenesski wrote: It would also be nice to be able to drag a midi file on top of a modulator multi envelope to get all of it's timing points as well.

Semi related, I would think that dragging the midi file to the multi envelope would replace all of the multi envelope's timing points with the timing found in the midi file. Perhaps a key modifier (such as CONTROL (PC)/OPTION (Mac)) would allow you to add timing points to the multi-envelope instead of replacing them. Once you have them you can always change/delete them.

Fine. For how long? A month, two? At what point do I contact them again? I understand people are busy but some idea of how to proceed would be nice.pdxindy wrote:waitwagtunes wrote:Well, I did as instructed, and it's been almost a week and no word.
