Cinebient, welcome to the crazy world of Fathom, yes the sale will go through Sunday.
I'm building 2.1.0 this afternoon, so last chance to ask for fixes which will go in.

Not sure if it´s possible to fix or just the nature of the engine but after the first contact i get often little drop-outs and cracks while moving slider some parameters or morphing trough wavetables, even when resolution is full on. CPU shows 2%, so it can´t be that.FathomSynth wrote:Cinebient, welcome to the crazy world of Fathom, yes the sale will go through Sunday.

I have a little request:
when Fathom is loading a program or loading samples, there is a black progress bar over a dark background. That is kinda hard to distinguish.
If only the progress bar could get a lighter tint to have more contrast with the background. I'd appreciate that.

Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong? I bought this on 1/2, but didn't realize until now - because I've not had much time to play with it, that it's only the mono version. I downloaded the zip file (which says "pro") from the KVR market location, and the instructions say that upon initial download, the serial number isn't needed...but, alas, and be that as it may, my poly is frozen..
Edited: I think the problem is that the wrong version is on the KVR site. I went to the http://www.fathomsynth.com/updates and downloaded that zip, which did require my serial. Problem solved, for me.

Bodhisan, Hi, thanks for downloading it.
Not sure what happened the KVR paid pro version and the web site version update
should be exactly the same (except the update needs the password).
But I'm glad you got it resolved.
Yes the dials click a little because there is no smoothing yet when the parameter changes, I will be changing that soon, so it’s smooth just like modulations. Let me know which dial seems to be the worst case so I can test it.

Tested not all yet but wave index f.e. would something which should be very smooth and there it´s really bad.
And f.e. changing speed or waveform of LFO has a large delay and is not usable for live tweaking at all since it just works when i release and hit a new note.

I've looked through the first 27 pages of this thread along with the entire manual, and I can't figure out the saving presets bit. Would someone please take me through, step by step, of how to save a preset and then retrieve it? I mean, it does appear that if you hit the up arrow, it's supposed to save...I do type in the name of the preset in the program field, and it remains - but where in the heck does it go? I can't retrieve it - or even know if I'm saving it.
Good Lord. It must have been a long week. I think I've found where "they go." I had premade my own sub folders within the User folder, but I guess they can't save there? But can be thrown in there afterwards, I guess - just to keep pads/leads, etc, separated...

Normally you would click browser then click save. You can save them in any folder you want in which case you would click browser then your desired folder then save.
Name it on the top menu first by selecting the text and replacing it with your new name.
Also, if you want to put in in a new folder..... create that in you OS browser first.
Probably best to fnd the Fathom/programs or Fathom/ programs/ user folder and create your new sub folder in there.
Then your good to go.
I am not completely up to speed on the new arrow menu features on the latest version but the above should still get you there.

I did prepopulate subfolders in the Fathom User folder, and: I put my new name in the top menu, click browser, select my subfolder, then hit save - but then it doesn't go in that folder...when I look in Finder, though, lo and behold, it's been saved, but outside of the User folder - not even in it. You know, this is not new to me, saving presets - there's not a synth in my collection I can't create subfolders and easily save in; so, this is making me feel like an idiot. Plus I keep getting crashes - Sierra 10.12.6, latest Logic.Scrubbing Monkeys wrote:Normally you would click browser then click save. Additionally, each time I go into the browser, it doesn't open up to the Fathom folders...I have to click back on library, audio, sounds, banks, fathom, program, users, I mean, crikey, this is going to be in my dreams tonight...I have to be doing something wrong.

Hey Bodhisan,
I gave that detail not to offend but because it is a little quirky untill you get used to it.. Then its quite cool IMHO.
What you discribe seems a bit weird. I will be in front of Fathom here in a few hours and go through the process to see if I am missing something. Someone will probably chime in by then and solve it for ya. Either way Ill check back in a few hours.

My little Scrub Monkey - I am not offended in the least - I sincerely appreciate you trying to help me. My frustration lies opposite your help. I swear to God, because I'm rather OCD about not moving on until I get something, that I've spent over four hours trying to make sense out of this, because making presets is what I love to do, and this synth seems pretty cool, but I have never had this kind of trouble trying to save presets in the right folder.Scrubbing Monkeys wrote:Hey Bodhisan,

Guys, this is totally my fault! There is a bug.
Bodhisan, I did not realize you were on Mac OSX.
There is a bug caused by Fathom creating file paths using \ instead of /
It will be fixed in 2.1.0 coming out tomorrow.
Bodhisan, you're not going crazy, this is a clear case of Fathom sabotage your work.
But 2.1.0 should make everything better.
