Hey guys, just joined the group buy & got my receipt, but for some reason, there is no "Redeem Code" when I go to my downloads....

Anyone else experience this problem?

Thanks,

Jon

I don't think anything has be uploaded yet, but I think there will be something this week. It is promised on or before the 30th.

Hey Reverend Rhythm,

That makes sense. Thank you much,

Back to DRUMS! I'll update you later. I just had to wake up early to do something with my contact (npi) at NI before he leaves for vacation. A little something extra for you all that joined the group buy. You'll see!
:o any hints :?:
Oh I had just made some improvements on some of the kits already included. I have a Bonham-style kit that is an experiment in getting that Zep 4 ambient sound. Plus the bonus artist snare at 400 if you make it! Soon to be revealed.

No it's really cool. I have a general one in there which is more of a natural sound which you can work with. That one is from the same sessions as the MT Bonzo kit but the samples are different and the mics used were different. So it's unique sounding and very authentic. But the OTHER kit is more of a produced kit. That one is one I've been messing with to get that When The Levee Castle slap back sound and... well, I think I've got it pretty darn close! I'll have to play it for you. A bit of a gimmick but since people are fascinated with that drum sound... might as well include that in here ready to go for you all.

I tweaked a few other things like the Nirvana Tama kit. It's not that it sounds just like Nevermind although it IS the same exact snare that was used on that album because it belongs to Ross Garfield and he brought it to the session. Ironically I've been to David Grohl's studio since (pictures on our myspace www.myspace.com/sonicreality - check out the one of the Nirvana picture he has on the wall). We went there after we did the Peart sessions with Nick R.

Anyway, there are all sorts of ways to tweak these kits and I'm having fun making the hybrid kits and deluxe midi grooves.

By the way, I was going to post the OWD kit 10 today but I noticed a mistake in the iMap part of the script. So our code guy is fixing that tonight. We have "cymbal slots" now so you can easily choose a slot you want to put the cymbal in... this way you can make your own cymbal set of all crashes or 2 crashes, 2 splashes and a china or whatever you want. It falls into 5 different cymbal slots (like virtual cymbal stands waiting to be filled).

I am also making a new Drum Masters 2 iMap graphic that has colors for different things... this is the best iMap layout we've done and the definitive one we're going to use now (as opposed to the previous OWD iMap which is mostly the same but has some minor differences).

Oh, iMap is for keyboardists so if e-Drummers are reading that no worries. Us keyboardists also like to drum and the iMap really takes finger drumming to a whole other level... especially now with Round Robin added just where it could use it! I can't WAIT to show you. This is the very first time we've released iMap with round robin. If you're an iMap fan you won't BELIEVE how awesome it is!!!!

This is the Drum Masters 2 iMap layout. Now remember this is designed for keyboardists as you have 70 different keys to trigger various articulations and extra keys (extras are what we used to call "Alts" but now that the main key can round robin the other notes are designated more for a non-round robin addition hit - and optional). It WOULD be nice if an e-Drum kit had 70 note triggers coming in but not yet... when they do though it is nice to know you have all of these performance articulations to trigger... and even now you can run all of these in custom map and map any of them to your pads so this is the overall menu of available performance samples and each of these can have round robin and multiple velocity layers. Pretty deep.

I'm off to bed. I'll explain more about this tomorrow.

By the way, the keys at the top that have the diagonal lines are not a standard part of the imap but if we have those performance articulations for those cymbals that is where they'd go in a "special" additional instrument using the "Custom Map" mode. That also makes it flexible for you to move around although you can also SWITCH a kit in any mode to another mode as well which is pretty darn cool... I'll have to show you how that works. It even works with key switching.

Oh, one last thing. You have 6 "slots" for toms which each have 3 keys for center, edge and rim (and each of those can round robin). You can assign any tom to any one of those positions on the keyboard. You also have 5 cymbal slots which are like cymbal stands waiting for you to put on a splash from Ocean Way or a China from Nick D'Virgilio. It's SUPER easy to customize your own kits with the kit pieces and that is one of the MOST fun things about a product like this which has Drum Masters 2 Signature kits bundled with Ocean Way Drums DL mix kits.

Okay... I just got my new hi-hat pad today and tonight I finished setting up my V-drums.

I'm all ready to try out that OWD kit 10 on the V-drums and of course to also do some finger drumming using the iMap. Thank you for the new iMap chart in colour... it is much easier to reference the kit pieces grouped in colour. I recommend that everyone download that image included above.

I'm very excited about this and can't wait to hear it in action. This is a feature we have needed for a long, long time!! I believe we might actually be getting closer to being able to create truly realistic drum tracks using MIDI kits... and that is a great leap forward.

All I can say about the new iMap layout is wow! That is extensive!

By the way, we are at 386, so the numbers are moving toward 400!

Do any of the included or optional kits have a snare that sounds like Stewart Copeland's? He tunes his skins really tight. In fact, his kit is pretty unique in its sound. If there is already a kit like that, can you tell me which one it is?
