 indeed, yes its shit at first, but if its over, it would be shit to stay too...

im about 15 years divorced now, and i can honestly say, ive never been happier. things just started to work out for me, because i didnt have to worry about pleasing someone else too, so if i wanted to do a weeks work for free, because i liked the project, thats on me.
if i want to spend silly amounts of money, on gear and action figures and weed, thats my decision alone!
and best of all, no having to sit through stupid tv shows like americas next top model :x yeah, that still hurts

Haven’t so much as had to glimpse a second of a soap or a reality show for 15 years. 8)

and id day we've both had access to musical equipment we could only dream about before

Most I’d owned before living alone was a MIDI controller and a couple of guitars.

I can still have GAS for stuff, just have to let it build like a barrage balloon.
Behringer just now showing their take on the Korg SQ-10 sequencer which they first teased 5 years ago.

But, just as I was to post the video they set it to private. Hmmm.

Edit: It’s back up now. Seems to be £149.

so big launch of multiwave day, with a few videos dropping...
cant order it anywhere here yet :(

Multiwave sounds pretty great, but I'll stick what I have at the moment. I made friends with Wave Packets again so I'm not so eager to let it go. :) I still have space reserved for Joranalogue Walk 4...

But meanwhile I'm keeping a watch on this one from Fancyyyyy Synthesis:

What I hear in there is a lot of potential, but no actual moments of sound that really blow me away that I feel I can't get with my current hardware/software. I'm eager to hear some more demos, see the panel and the price etc. though.

I've been playing around with pulsar synthesis for a while and while I can understand the desire to parameterize things to make it easy to control... I just don't need a dedicated module for doing this stuff. I can get a lot of these sounds in my Serge modular with a pair of slopes and either more cycling slopes or a few oscillators. The concepts aren't new, just the packaging, IMO.

There are a lot of ways to do pulsar synthesis. Most of the time I'm just not as into that sound all that much, though I admit I haven't explored it super deeply since I wasn't that impressed by the basics.

I am not a fan of the new CuteLab Mom Jeans pulsar oscillator, or whatever the other 2025 one was. Xaoc Sofia is more interesting, but the VCV Rack "Sofia's Daughter" which expands on it is better still.

K-Accumulator seems to combine additive (?), wavefolding, phase modulation and pulsar synthesis and I'm curious how that's all being presented, and what range of sounds it tends toward. I am hoping that first video is just tip-of-the-iceberg stuff.

(Maybe not additive, but that's what "harmonic stretching" and "blended harmonic frequency shifting" suggested to me.)

Loved the visual, but the familiarity of the sounds, gave me an odd and profound sense of (I can only describe as) 'nostalgia', in that I've heard or made every single one of those sounds before. E.v.e.r.y. one! I liked them, but the sensation was quite pronounced.

Reaktor metaphysical function comes to mind.

I fairly regularly have this original Christmas gift (2002) version playing in the background while I putter about my humble abode.
