We've been here maaaany times. I can understand an aversion to a single dongle-mandated license - all the arguing here would be nothing compared to that - but that's not the only way to do iLok as we know. Eventide has two authorisations per product, and these can be on a physical dongle or a machine. UVI are similar, I think its three authorisations with them. I can only presume that either a) the licensing is more expensive for the developer than Codemeter or b) the iLok machine licenses are not as secure.

Can we rename this thread to the" CP bitch & moan infinity black hole of despair" or something. i'm sick of hearing about it!
When was the last time anybody ever mentioned anything about the synthesiser itself! Its ridiculous. Seriously you should make another thread for this, and you can moan all you like about have to click a mouse a few times over the course of a few mins every 3 months.

how shall users talk about the synth, if they can't use it because the copy protection is making trouble? But you can open a new thread "I'm the king here because on my system it works". There you can praise with the fanboys!kenny saunders wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:27 am Can we rename this thread to the" CP bitch & moan infinity black hole of despair" or something. i'm sick of hearing about it!

Maybe 1 in 30 posts is about an actual problem which should ideally be directed to the support email. Just look at the posts on this page like "why one earth do they use this instead of ilok?"clipnotic wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 11:44 amhow shall users talk about the synth, if they can't use it because the copy protection is making trouble? Have you actually bothered to note how many of these posts are because they can actually not use the synth, and how many are pointless moaning?

I said this 3 or 4 times already in this thread. 1.5 was a FREE update. We could NOT use a dongle suddenly. Not elicenser and not iLok. This would have meant, that all users who dont already own a dongle and wanted to update would have been forced to BUY a dongle actually. I can imaginge the moaning here would have been even worse in that case. Doing NOTHING was no alternative, too. Apart from the financial loss, buyers literally flooded us with mails to STOP the warez immediately. They said they paid and dont want to see it for free. There were even more stresful than the CodeMeter haters
So in the end CodeMeter offered the best possibilites of a.) a secure protection and b.) no dongle required (optional) and c.) affordable and QUICKLY available for licensing. We could not imagine, that nitpicking over a feq KB background process and the difficulty of pressing some buttons in the correct described order will be such a big hurdle for some people. But however, I am the sound guy, questions and feedback for the copyprotection pls to Rene. Feature wishes and sound design questions to me.

f**k! Now accidently I "gave back" one of my VPS Avenger licenses, so I only now have 2/3 left.
How can I make this undone? And why can I give a license back? This is so annoying.

Rene can restore it. No one here in the board can. But the support can...

The 'flaw' in your argument, to me is that ilok does offer a non dongle option. (I personally don't don't use that option as I think it is a disaster waiting to happen, and I would have used my ilok dongles). But it does offer that option, and many use it. Very similar to the codemeter from the users pov, well except I am not sure you can do timed permanently license with it.

Do you remember what you to did to give back these licenses inadvertently?MacGyver wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 2:55 pm f**k! Now accidently I "gave back" one of my VPS Avenger licenses, so I only now have 2/3 left.

It might be my way of removing the beta licenses I don't' want out of my account.
Sorry about your issue, hopefully Rene can sort you out quickly.

Hm, I find the register webpage kind of misleading, maybe you could make it more clear by better, less informatics naming, color coding and/or positioning...?
For example:
- There is a green led next to the containers licenses in the list, even it was outdated. It could be then yellow instead.
- If I click on "Lizenz umziehen", it now says "Lizenz zurückgeben" on the next page. So I don't know anymore, what actually will happen here.
- "Lizenz umziehen" actually is deactivating, no? The button then might give a warning requester first and be red.

Yes, I clicked "Lizenz umziehen", and then "Lizenz zurückgeben", assuming I had to give it back first beofre re-registering. I still can do that, no matter if beta license or not. This makes no real sense to me. If I give a license back, why it is then not available for a new device anymore?zvenx wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:03 pm Do you remember what you to did to give back these licenses inadvertently?
