excellent news!

Wow, just tried this thing for the first time and it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for! The browser and sample preview are features that I couldn't find in any other free / cheap sampler and it's incredibly quick to build up a kit. I felt like my collection of drum samples was going to waste a bit, but they won't any more :)

As for comparisons to Shortcircuit, I like that thing too but this is far more intuitive for quickly setting up a drum kit. I would definitely say keep this simple and easy to use, and I will be a definite buyer when it gets to that stage!

Personally I'd be using less, but then again there's always room for a bit of flexibility. Not too much though otherwise it just becomes a chore. However, if there was room, would it be possible to use these 'velocity spaces' for 'alternate random sample' hits too? (for the purpose of avoiding machinegun effect on a single note)

+1 for reverse function, though I personally would prefer it to be like sort of a 'trigger' function with its own ADSR setting per cell.

A suggestion if it's possible, maybe a velocity-controlled simple Lowpass Filter when enabled for a cell? (Just to have that ability to have that 'damped' quiet noise)
+10. I'm looking cheap/free alternative for Battery. Like RMIII with browser,velocity-controlled simple Lowpass Filter, 8+ stereo outs and random sample alternatives for velocity layers. But I impressed Poise beta too. Great start  ! Hope for velocity-controlled LPF with just one knob in next betas. Sorry my English!

Just bumping the thread to let people know that I've released an update. I've fixed a few bugs an added a couple of small features. View the change log for more info.

The free version has been replaced by a demo. The demo version will go silent after 15 minutes, but has full save/load functionality so simply reload the project to continue using Poise. The full version is available for $30.

The demo can be downloaded from http://www.anothersmallclue.com.

Good news, but sadly, as I can't use it anymore in my computer music workshop with students, I ll have to look elsewhere. Not bad priced, especially if you consider adding some extra features, but my students only can jump in with free/share/donationware.

is this the latest thread?

Poise is fantastic, and a solid deal at $30. :)

I don't need another drum sampler. I have now settled down on Drum Racks in Live 7. Suits me perfectly.

Hi Steve, Welcome to KVR. :)
Guys destroy any EZDrummer, Battery, FXpansion CD, because it cannot be compared to MDrummer!

has Poise development evolved lately?
just curious and wanted to make a small bump
;)

BTW after LONG considerations, i fear ill need to give up at the end, and, although i dont need most of the boasted (and sometimes buggy) features they introduced on v3, ill give up and grab Battery sooner or later..honestly i hate the Service Center and NI support on the official forum is a laugh most of the times, particularly when users point out the bugs, but i cant be arsed to start learning RMIV or other stuff...Battery GUI just seems to fit for most tasks i need...funnily , i would easily use better Battery 2 rather than 3 for most features, since i dont need zillions of the new features included since v3.
maybe, if lucky, when i am on the market for it, ill find someone switching to RMV and selling his old Battery2 for cheap :P
Peace out

Since the "freewarization" of shortcircuit, I believe there need not be another drums sampl0r evar.
That crossed my mind when SC was made free. I think the different effects SC can apply to samples would be really useful when building up a drum kit. It certainly raises the bar for freeware samplers.
SC cant preview samples before load though, and that alone makes it a no go for me.
