Probably because there is less range in the parameters, like what you were talking about before. So it's more often in the "good" range.

is there any "main" difference, between the "sonic flavours R66"
and "redline reverb" !????

we allready speaked about that...
it uses some improved algorithms wich they cant talk about cause its a secret in the recipe, it uses lower cpu has better gui and all those presets...

Not to forget the slight inconvenience that R66 was unfortunately discontinued and hence unsupported, of course. Which reminds me... did I mention that we offer a 66% discount for registered R66 owners? So for the next two months you can join the Redline family for a ridiculous $33.66/€33.66!

i really need to sleep. it's greek good friday and have relative commitments and ot's 6.22 am and i haven't slept yet. more investigations after greek Easter. I' out for now.

ttoz, i find your writing rather funny (no offence anyone) and at the same interesting about the way you describe things and look at varient reverb units. Yet i think the Redline reverb brings something unique to the table other reverb plugins might not bring. I hear that its not dense enough up to a personal taste and might sound metalic in some situations...sadly yet every reverb native plugin i heard nowdays has a some weakness...
I wish there will be one day a digital reverb plugin to match TC VSS algos and even may i bare to say eventide reverb algorithms equivient!
abit of topic but did you try Epicverb by bootsy ? Its free and IMHO its amazing.

Here is a little clip with me tweaking the Redline Reverb in realtime. I would hardly call this metallic! The "sizzle" that goes on is definitely not very resonant, it's just "sizzling" nicely in my opinion. Sure it's not the smoothest reverb but like was already earlier established, that's not a marker of quality. Grain can be and often is good.

Drumloop tweaked through Redline Reverb

Note: the reverb was set to a permanent 85% wet which is pretty impressive in my opinion. Dry snippet of the loop in the beginning (1 bar).

I'll create a vocal example as well.
