Should be able to do mate, just having some home studio troubles myself (pain in the backside man) and that clip i found on one of my external drives that i did about a year ago!

But yeah i really want to do the same thing with "real" "software" and a combination of both "Hybrid" style of the various stuff i use for my needs guitar not bass amp focused.

I guess that the Line6 pedal and ampegSVX is my choice of amp modeler/speaker cab modeler not using IR' and my choice oppose to using an overdrive pedal and valve amp/pre-amp with a convolution speaker plug-in if you know what i mean - like my faviourite plug and play solution.

The reason it is fairly bassy is that i do ideas/demo's without a bass guitar as i do not own one myself or at least one that is not in pieces! So to compensate i do quite a big but sharp boost at around 70 - 75 Hz as the DFH kick is very attack focused the way i use it just to fill in the frequencies

But the SD2 kick requires less guitar low-end boost as it has more low-end punch than the EZd DFH kick...Thats why im going crazy for the Metal Foundry SDX

Actually he doesn't build them but his ear tests for each mic is impressive, I was kind of surprised he got into this. We're not really close, well we weren't we've got closer as of late (my mother and his mother were very close), I sent him an email a while back just to see how he was and he asked "do you want a mic?" naturally I said yes. He really is a fairly well known engineer, but I guess that state of the music industry led him to different endeavors.

Yeah i can see what you mean. Alot of people whom start of as tape ops/engineers go on to do consultancy/room acoustic designs/design gear/QC and the like as i guess it goes with the territory

Getting a nice microphone for nothing is awesome

I hardly ever see any of my cousins due to circumstance and living along way from one another (we are spread out all over the UK and my family and me are the only ones left whom live close to where we all grew up as kids). Thats just life though ain't it

yeah I saw that last night on the waves page, shortly after I got my ilok out of my lock box and installed the drivers. I have an ilok for my antares stuff but after my last HD change last summer I didn't install either. I haven't been using the antares stuff much and I already have two other dongles so I figured I would install the ilok if and when I needed it

Only you can decide.

I don't think the sonic difference RME <> PRS will be huge, and you can build your own split out via Totalmix, long live RME !
I only have symmetrical line level ins at my converter (RME ADI8) so I need a DI, in your case it's not essential imho.

In my "constant tweaking never actually getting music done EVER" routine, I'm even getting a bigger woody over GR4 control room. I had it approached from the standpoint of soloing a mic and constantly going to different soloed mics (boring!) instead of shaping and sculpting. Now enjoying moving the sliders around (with appropriate attention to the cabinet gain) and finding sounds that way.

Just wanted to share.
