Last time I checked IKM T-Racks (don't know which version, but it was the one that dropped all plugins after installation), it still didn't work in WL8.0.x. The plugins rendered in demo mode.

This might be due to WL's engine that "copies" the plugin and(!) the preset during offline rendering. So the plugins are only "half initialized" so to speak. The endresult is that the plugin is only initialized as demo, and results in noise bursts every 10s for 2s.

I pretty much gave up on filing that issue - the constant answer I got as well was to "run as admin", which does indeed solve the issue. But that's definitely not the end of the line. So my solution: no IKM Plugins in Wavelab (which makes me sad, you can create a parallel EQ with the Shell, the Clipper is still versatile as well - and sometimes the Pultec just sounds great as general soundshaper). Which means, I can't even use the new Mastering EQ to it's full potential (didn't even demo it).

They do work fine in Cubase however.

Might need to test with a "newer" version again...

Here is what you need to do to overcome the problem of running SampleTank as admin.

1. in Windows click on the Start button and type regedit in the search box. Right click regedit.exe on the search list and Run as Administrator
2. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IK Multimedia
3. right click on SampleTank 3 under IK Multimedia on the left tree and Export
4. save it as <name>.reg where you will find it
5. close regedit

6. open regedit as user.
7. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IK Multimedia
8. right click SampleTank 3 and Rename it to SampleTank 3- (or whatever)
9. close regedit.
10. double click on the previously exported <name>.reg file and merge it
11. open regedit as user, it should reopen at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IK Multimedia. you will find the imported key values under SampleTank 3
12. add the Vst64Path you find in the renamed SampleTank 3- as a new string value to the list of values in SampleTank 3 in the right window

Enjoy! :)
