Thanks, Bmanic, that is clever.
- When i use a hum remover (like TB hum remover or the Waves Arts one), it mangles the kick drum, as the effects is applied all the time.
- And if i go the spectral route (using Reafir, MAgix audio cleaning lab, you name it), there can have some audible artifacts quite nasty on transients...
by the way, thanks a lot for the clear explanation & the screencap !
Yes. My idea would be able to get rid of hum on some beat recordings, with a deep electronic kick drum.An offline hum removal process will be way better but the cool thing with the MdynEQ solution above is that it can work in realtime on a live instrument!

Yeh it says it does side-chaining but that normally does not work in Cubase but I have been less lazy and looked over the site and see it is in VST3 format so cool

This looks interesting. Before i install the demo's, on pc and osx, a question; On another daw i've seen Melda plugins install the files a bit 'messy' throughout AppData on OSX and in windows Application Data.
Can you (or anyone) tell me where this demo installs files please? On both platforms.
Thanks!

Sure, if you target specific frequencies. It cannot work like a denoiser though.sinkmusic wrote:Could it work (efficiently) as a hum remover, active only when the signal is rather quiet, and bypassed when the signal is loud ?

It installs a setup for uninstallation into applications and data into MeldaProduction subfolder in AppData. There are also a few more files on some more places, copy protection and stuff.zeep wrote:This looks interesting. Ton more features, way different GUI, more bands depending on the version used.P.T. wrote:How does this compare to IQ4 GUI for dynamic EQ?
Didn't find any suitable difference in terms of CPU usage comparisions on my i7 920 on XP32bitP.T. wrote:More or less cpu?
Both versions were always stable to begin with (at least on my end).P.T. wrote:More or less stable?

All I can say is that it's just a few files, that won't cause any harm whatsoever. Compared to the tens of thousands in the system it's irrelevant. And obviously I'm not going to reveal copy protection details.zeep wrote:Thanks but kinda vague there. Ok, folks, so here's a testing version for Windows with basically all changes you asked for I think. It's for Windows only:
32bit - http://www.meldaproduction.com/download ... Test32.zip
64bit - http://www.meldaproduction.com/download ... Test64.zip
(if you want VST3, just change the extension to vst3)
EDIT: You have to use the installer for the first time, the links are only to replace existing plugins.
Besides the changes, there was one bug, which made the dynamic gain work incorrectly on mono files. If you find something has changed in this case, just set "level gain" to -3dB. The differences should be minimal, but still. That's why I need to check this version as quickly as possible and then we'll go for final update, for all plugins actually.
Please let me know if you find anything.
Cheers!

EDIT2: NEVERMIND! I just found the linking % control for each band. AWESOME!!!!!!

Very nice new metering as well!
One suggestion: Could we have stereo linking as a multi-parameter?
Cheers!
