Sorry it was short, but I had to try to get through them all in a very short time and didn't want to pull them to pieces with re-listens - I'd rather just give my first thought without analyzing.

I have great respect for those who choose to tell what they felt.Even one line comment is valuable for me. I tried reviewing once because Scoops made it part of the competition that month. Was totally lost trying to write.Put up a pathetic show and my respect for the reviewers grew even more.

And I would like some clarification regarding which parts of the following sentence from the wiki article are allowed:

If an entire melody is played by two or more instruments or sung by a choir with a fixed interval between the voices or in unison, it is also said to be in monophony

If I interpret this correctly, then any two notes sung at a fixed interval (e.g. octaves, fifths) would also be considered monophonic, so long as the interval does not change throughout the entire track. Am I right?

Quite a few entries in the last few days. Here is the last batch of highly subjective reviews. I hope you get something out of them.

Voting is going to be hard - there are some great tracks in this batch.

Bjulin - 30 Seconds to Alpha Omikron
Nice to hear another expressive piano track. Nicely subtle backing strings. The octaved ending seemed slightly out-of-keeping with the feel of the earlier part of the track, but I guess it is hard to come to a definite ending with a chilled, slightly ambient piano piece as this. Nice piece, nicely played.

IrionDaRonin - Saranghee Yo
This is a wonderfully constructed original piece. The bass sound carries this piece, while the instrumentation varies over the top of it, with some nice Asian touches, without pandering to stereotypical Asian idioms. A great mix, and the track is worthy of repeated listening. Another top 10 contender.

liqih - eastim
Curious that we get two tracks in a row with an Asian theme. Interesting frenetic Asian piece, parts of which are definitely reminiscent of Indonesian music. Easy to imagine a variant of this being played in the backstreets of some major Asian city.

bzur - Snippet!
Interesting opening - slap that fly! Great sub-bass and a very relaxing chilled feel, with some lovely subtle percussion in the background. Feels like it really wants to go on past the 30 second mark, and hasn't quite fully developed its true potential when it is time to end. But a lovely piece to relax to.

mellotronaut - Believe
Great lyrics, given a unique vocal treatment. The bass drum doesn't quite seem to fit in the mix - particularly in the middle section where there is no vocal - perhaps a different sample may have worked better. The choral vocals in the background are very effective. A creatively original track.

Peterhud - Yeah
A great fun track, reminiscent of 1970's TV comedy. Even done in the same lo-fi style. Move over The Goodies, Benny Hill et al! The video is a nice extra touch. Well done.

Doc Jon - Goldfish In Da Hood
This is a complete crack-up. Had me laughing out loud. Superb both lyrically and musically. Top job.

Vulcandj - Take Off
Superb guitar playing, and what otherwise might have just been 30 seconds of jamming actually sounds like a complete track. Great mix with just the right blend of lead and backing sounds, and well varied drums. Another one goes in the list for the top 10!

gorgorgathgorgorgor - Shut the Funk Up
Wonderful slap guitar playing. However the track felt slightly as though it was the backing track to something more substantial. Your aptitude with the bass is unquestionable, though.

mikebenson - The Omniscient Narrator
Nice beat and the backing sounds were well selected and mixed. The vocals were rather too far back in the mix in the early part, and hard to understand, and the way they were treated (reverb, EQ etc) meant that they didn't really sit too comfortably in the mix. Very promising, and I definitely want to hear more of your stuff if this is your usual style.

you make me very happy with the review! i have to check the bass drum. btw., there are no drum samples involved: i used Tremor from FXPansion, a drum synth with integrated sequencer. it needed more time to make the choral vox almost 'invisible' and effective, than to record and process my own vox.
