I hope not.

If Battery is becoming integrated into Kontakt then I'm sticking with Komplete 7 and Battery 3. Or will just buy Geist. I use B3 because its relatively lightweight and to-the-point at what it does. Adding it to Kontakt will just add another level of kludgeyness. ugh.
I've heard the same thing. Personally, I love the idea, simply because I use Kontakt so much these days and it would actually simplify my life to have Battery integrated. That said, the wisest thing in my mind is NI to do both, keep Battery 3 around as a separate product AND integrate it into Kontakt.
Oooh that's a good rumour that has the ring of truth about it. Battery 3 is a dinosaur at this point, and NI have integrated midi drum files and a lot of other goodies into the Kontakt platform. They're clearly trying to fold everything into the Kontakt / Reaktor / Guitar Rig platforms, so the idea that Battery 4 would be a player library is a solid idea.

In fact, perhaps the Battery name will go completely, and they will roll some of that library into an expanded Maschine Selection product, and keep that badge for all thier beats (as opposed to their drums).

One other prediction - a rebadge of Guitar Rig as a platform, it makes no sense at all if using Reflektor / The Finger etc. Just keep the Guitar Rig name for that particular product.

I predict the coming of ReaktorKore. Containing Reaktor 6 with new features being the ability to build ensembles that contain not only Reaktor instruments/effects, but allows for connecting and routing audio to/from VST plugins. The whole routing-game from Kore will be revived in ReaktorKore. Thus also reintroducing a new fileformat .rksd - and with included batch-import functions for importing .ksd-files.

Alternatively they relaunch Kore with a 3.0 bombshell release!

Guys there is already a thread at NI where lately someone claimed similar rumor. Disappearance of Battery. Someone from NI responded that that is not going to happen anytime soon, that battery is pretty viable product and that they are looking to upgrade it as a product. Not integration in to Kontakt.

Sorry i don't have a link but maybe someone from KVR have it.

The Finger does not have any connection with Guitar Rig. It's Reaktor powered product.

Doh, quite right. Reflektor / Solid / Vintage etc.

Let us know if you find that link, Kmonkey.

I have reflektor (well duh, it comes with komplete) and I'm not terribly impressed.

I also have "reverberate" and I find it better overall. Ymmv.

Actually Battery as well as all other current products will continue to be developed for a long time to come, with absolutely no plans to the contrary. You can take that as an official word from me.

And someone started similar thread about Battery being merged into Kontakt (apparently from JJR forum) and he closed it with reason of spreading hazard rumors..EDIT: wrong i messed something about JJR and link related to this question but the point is same

So definitely Battery won't die anytime soon..

I was always wondering who spread such misinformation?

Post

Thanks kmonkey, but I see both those threads are a year old - that's quite some time, if they were supporting it for "some time to come", our time may be up. Also if it migrated to a Kontakt library, they could keep the Battery badge, so no real drama there anyway.

As for "misinformation" - look at the title of the thread, proudly saying this is all speculation!

"...according to business decisions, wie had to change our plans for (product xyz)..."

Its this simple for NI...

Well what to say? If you guys tend to believe more to some rumor at some 3rd party forum other then one from official NI employee then so be it :)

I beg to differ---this thread is Komplete speculation. :) 8)

I don't' see the problem. The posts you referenced are a year old. Arguably that's enough time to justify their content, and if they chose they could scrap it in September (which would be 15 months since those posts). But the popular theory here is that they are rolling it into a Kontakt library - doubtless with shiny new features / content - and they could chose to retain the Battery badge. In which case Battery will live for many more years in its new form.

May the Komplete Spekulation continue!

What goes around comes around. They could call it "Generator". ;)
