I think it's fine too as in my mind amp/cab is basically saturation/distortion and EQ, no? Besides, only pure modulation effects are outlawed so if not in use and the original sound is not 'beyond recognition' it's fine. @Angelremington: Using several DAWs etc is no problem, but do try some easy fixes first, I recommend for example You Wa Shock! on the master bus (tweak the amount knob), as that does it all in one plugin, or do it manually with multiband compressors, saturators (check Variety of Sound) and steroizers (check Rescue by Variety of Sound).
