I don't expect this to happen much more, maybe it is just luck that my requests were simple to implement, but it definitely shows active development from a developer that is listening to his users. I was mightily impressed. It really is a great plugin and I really appreciate what it does for my setup. I really hope as many as possible jump at buying MUX as it will keep the wheels greased and development humming along. Other plugins may do the same thing but none that I've tried are as easy to use.
Unfortunately MUX offers very little in the way of original features to grab people who already have a modular on board, it does not save as vst (Would grab the SE and SM users as it would be x64 and i guess OSX) it does not have very advanced drum sampling in terms of DFD/Round Robin or Random robin/layering, it does not do much in the way of synthesis or effects that has not been done already in most modulars or free plugins, simply put it lacks a lot of components for advanced users, and like it or not usability does not have as much impact on sales as some in this thread may think (Reaper would have zero sales, which is very much not the case)

This is a massive shame because it is obviously a very high quality product that seems to have been released way too early.

As it is a lot of people will hold out for a v2 or 3 with better capabilities and i hope the dev garners enough sales to warrant making those later versions.

I suspect a bunch of people will jump all over this post but i am only being honest about why i am not buying in to this app right now even at reduced price :(
You must have overlooked the other assets of the MUX which is the sound quality of the OSC (Top Top Notch), the feature request flexibility, the perfect integration with MuLab and other DAWs as well, the EASINESS of the whole system.
Simply put: It does what it is design to do "flawlessly" and extremely fast with superb quality with an Amazing technical and development support.

I disagree.
Workflow, features and ergonomics add up to a different user experience.
This is very user friendly, powerful and looks the business.

But then, you were just voicing your reason for not buying :)

I will keep an eye and see what the dev adds in the coming weeks/months, right now my money is waiting for another modular to be released that has an amazing sound quality and unbelievably low CPU usage ;)

It is a VST!
Why would it have to save as a VST?
it does not have very advanced drum sampling in terms of DFD
There is a 64 bit version which gives you almost unlimited RAM possibilities and Windows has virtual memory management. Why would you need DFD?
Round Robin or Random robin/layering
It does have multi sample layering per key and velocity zones, as detailed as you want, cfr http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/mu ... ditor.html
Indeed no round robin yet, it's on the wishlist.

I disagree because i think it all comes down to usability. And this already is a very usable product with a high-quality sound engine!

Waiting for 4 Gb of samples to load into RAM is a pain.

Especially when you realise you just loaded the wrong drum kit so need to load a different 4Gb set of samples. (Even with DFD it takes a long time to pre-cache that much data...)

Sorry if this is explained somewhere, but I couldn't find it in the docs:
Is there a way to use the modulation nodes with VST parameters?
In my test of MUX, only very few things had modulation inputs which for me would be the main interest in such a tool.

Thanks for a hint! :-)

Cheers,

Tom

You mean for example to modulate a VST parameter with an LFO etc.?
Yes you can. Actually you can modulate any parameter made available by the VST.
Connect a "Parameter Event Generator" to the VST Event Input Blue connector and select the parameter you wish to control.
Then connect a modulation source, like an LFO, to the Parameter Event Generator" and you are done.
There is more in the MUX...

I think he means that you could save each MUX patch as a VST, so it could be redistributed. But since a MUX can include other VSTs I doubt this is possible, in the sense of making a redistributable VST which is what I think he is considering, for example as a competitor for Synthedit as a development environment. My understanding is MUX is a more user-level tool, not a dev environment for stand-alone applications.

Just remember that it comes with a ton of presets to get you going too, so right out of the box you have a bunch of synths. If I were just starting out I would buy MUX and maybe just use freeware to add to its palette. It is a steal IMO.
