Is there any synth out there that has the sound quality of U-He Diva?

Nothing sounds like Diva, that's for sure. It's an historically important classic analog simulation.

But there are other VAs with very high quality analog characteristics. My area of comparison expertise is sync. When you sync the oscillators and sweep the freq, the various synths really show distinct, clearly audible differences. Diva's sync sweep can sound more like a Memorymoog (Miami Vice) than any other. ACE's is super-smooth and sweet but not as rich or powerful. Omnisphere's sync sweep is much more aliased than any of U-He's synths. But if you want a truly massive sync-sweeping lead sound, no other synth can compare to Massive. The quality and smoothness of Massive's sync is second to none (very little aliasing), and you can sync all 3 oscillators (try that with Diva)! This provides ginormous quantities of screaming overtones. What I can do with Massive in terms of a face-melting sync lead I have not yet been able to do with any other synth.

Haven't tried 'em all though :hihi:

Glad to hear that Gonga ............ 'cause im getting Massive for free....!

Any other synths whose sync you have opinions on? Im interested to hear your thoughts. Especially Oxium and Diversion ... as those are the synths of my possession with sync .. maybe im missing one or two, but those are the ones besides diva, which have sync, that i use the most. Diversion's sync is a bit special though as it's a separate osc form.

Edit: I know things can get a bit inflammatory around here when you mention some devs or names... but PLEASE lets try to stay sober and not go bash a dev or another for personal vendettas sake. I know the devs mentioned in this post welcome other people's opinions and thoughts as long as it's not illhearted like some people, unfortunately, around here intend.
So please.. :)

People will probably laugh but Pro53 still has an absolutely unique sync sound imo.

I always used it almost exclusively for that kind of stuff.
The funny thing is when I played the video game Portal 2 with my girlfriend I said to her how awesome the sync lead in the track in the background sounded (not that she would care :hihi:).
Months later I learned from an intervew that the guy actually used Pro53 to make that lead sound :)

Edit: The lead from this track for example:

 First thing I thought of!

I haven't been a part of diva threads, because I'm the only person who doesn't get it at all. There I said it, now you can ban me/move my posts to HPC.

You're not the only person who doesn't "get" Diva at all.

Say what?

i thought that too until i turned off the FX on the classic sync lead sounds.

I think this question might be fit for this thread ..

What plugins (effects) can be used to accentuate the "quality" of a synth if we speak of vintage tone? Some distortion always helps (i love Plusdistortion for this, it's the only one i find worthy a 303 clone like Venom). I use SKNOTE's STRIPbus with some minor tweaks on just about everything. What else is there? A vinyl emulator of some sort? I used that free one .. err.. from .. vintagewarmerguys ... but it was a bit unstable for me (very actually).

I'd rather use tape emulation effects like sknote's Roundtone, Nomad Factory's Magnetic, or Variety of Sounds FerricTDS (free). Or an EQ/channelstrip that can add some pleasant saturation.
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Im a proud owner of cuttertone, mattertone, presence, roundtone, grasso and Strip+Bus :D

Could make a thread only about those plugins :) Maybe i should, because it's easy to get lost when you have so many options at hand

I don't want to get into the majority of older tech synths that have aliased sync. I mentioned Omnisphere because it's safe to say it won't negatively impact sales :hihi: But all U-He synths have very smooth sync, Massive does, and none of my other synths do (that's a lot) :D but I haven't tried the two you mentioned. The Prophet V popularized the sound controlled by ADSR, but Jan hammer had been putting sync sweep under the pedal since the early 70s (Oh Yeah?)- it's like "seeing god."

So Dennis is a Portal fan too eh? Great game!

I have grown accustomed to AcmeBarGig's Preampus Metal C-15. No other amp sim I've tried sounds anything like it (not bad for free), and I've tried GR, IK, Trash, and many others. It has a clear, low-mid metal wall of sound thing that has to be heard to be believed. It excels with synths and rich sync overtones. It tames them just right. And flange. Flange with lots of delay...at the end of the signal chain after tons of echo and ValhallaRoom! :hihi:

At least one of the two synths he mentioned has a stellar sync mode. 8)

I just demoed Oxium - the oscillators sounded wonderfully rich and the sync sounded smooth and silky.

I couldn't test it fully because the demo doesn't seem to permit midi learn. I'd like to test the sync sweep beyond just two octaves and put it under a pedal. I'm no longer in the market because I have all the synths I need for the time being, but I have to say demoes that are hobbled don't sell the product so well as fully-functional ones do imo. I like to be able to take it for a spin if you know what I mean.
