This is one of the reason I own one.

I suppose it all depends on whether they're made with stock modules or not.

I haven't downloaded the demo yet, so can't answer the bit about the quality. I'll do it shortly and maybe even write a review but if someone wants to charge $160 or whatever it is for a high CPU monster, then it had better be well above average.

Anyway, surely sound quality is mostly dependant on my D/A converters and how they interact with the code. None of my software suppliers can expect a premium charge for the hardware i've paid for.

I'm a newbie to KVR but not to music software.

My review will be honest, fair and commensurate with it's pricetag.

And as far as I know, Diva is built of purpose coded C++ modules. I don't know about Lush but it's probably the same.

And even then, I think they're over-priced, as is pretty much all music software.

It all depends how deep are your pockets, quality understanding and your reference points.
You may be interested in Spire or Helix as well. Good sound and less CPU. Try it.

It's not gone off to a good start. Diversion is crashing my computer. I cannot boot up live any more.

$169 for giving me a hard time!!! I think you know the answer to that already.

I'm now going to have to uninstall and re-install lots of software. There goes a day.

So what would be a fair price for a great software as Diversion or Zebra and what rules you apply to determine that fair price in this software market?
I think Diversion is just below its fair markets price IMO.
You should be looking at some other softwares that are even more expensive than this one by far and with less quality, but you like to be here instead.
For some of us that have a legitimate financial problems there are great free softwares, and not only in music.
I too I can't afford some of the high end programs but I rather pull myself up the ladder rather than pulling down the rest of the world.

You have a good profession and an important one in these times. Do your best and you will meet your golden opportunity.

If you recall, my original question asked whether this was made in Synthedit/synthmaker (ok yeah I got it wrong by saying synthmaster but that's unimportant). That question still hasn't been answered.

Were it coded purely in C++ and it was 40 hours + per week's work for an entire year, I would still only want to pay max $80 for it. Think about it, that's a big income for what is a relatively simple job.

If it's a synthedit creation, then i'd price it much lower, somewhere around $20. Remember, there's been ZERO outlay. I paid for all the hardware, including the bits that are responsible for sound quality.

As I've already said, music software is hugely over-priced and I mean hugely, so your reckoning that it's pitched fairly is not agreeable to me in the slightest.

And we certainly shouldn't be encouraging greedy prices for doing very little.

If its a simple job, you should do it yourself and save $80.
Explain to me where how did you arrived to $80...
For the rest of your comments regarding others, earning an income based on your Golden Rule is not even worth getting into.
Maybe you should become a money manager in a communist country, from where you probably have roots.

It is clear that you have an issue with Diversion's developer, as you did in the past.
