Cool, good to know. thx.klangbastler wrote:that's the magnetic behaviour for quick resetting to 0.A.M. I really can't seem to set it between those two numbers, but after that it is smooth.
Also, I kind of miss the continuous stereo image slider per band on the earlier version. The L/R/M/S button is useful, but I like being able to make finer adjustments too.
press shift for finer increments. the manual covers all the other options of keyboard and mouse.

I'm starting to get the hang of FLX but I think proper metering for gain reduction / expansion would be of great help.

it is already thereMario-C. wrote:I'm starting to get the hang of FLX but I think proper metering for gain reduction / expansion would be of great help.
the frequencygraph shows all gainchanges that happen in realtime.
it even reflects the amount (dry/wet) since the last update.

Sure is, nice work Jeroen.bmanic wrote:Awesome update!
The cpu improvement is appreciated and the xtra latency trade off hasn't bothered me at all in Logic.
Thanks very much, great plugin, particularly with automation.

You can use shift-drag (fine edit mode) for accurate gainA.M. Gold wrote:Anyone else getting a quick jump when trying to adjust the upper (above threshold) part of the compression curve? adjustment near 0. Alternatively, you can first zoom in
(select an area around the node of interest) and make
the modifications. The snap to zero will still be active
without shift, but the jump in dB is much smaller.
Third alternative is to use the 'gain' control below the EQ graph
(again, with shift gives finer control).

I downloaded the 2.8.8 update and Reaper 4.402 (Win7 32bit) is giving me (for each plugin in the buss tools set):
"Plug-in 'TB_Barricade.dll' executed invalid operation during scanning..."
I'll try the dl again (may sure I got the 32bit Windows version) and give it another shot. Might end up going back to the previous version...
EDIT: I rolled back to 2.8.6 and things are fine now.

Can someone give me a real world of example of when to use this plugin? I bought it cause it seems useful, but it seems pretty complicated to grasp...
Thanks in advance

"Dynamic equalizers are the latest evolution in equalization. They represent something between normal equalizers and dynamic processors, such as compressors and expanders. In practice they can work as both.
You use them as normal parametric equalizers, but each band can vary its gain according to input signal level. This can be very useful for several tasks such as de-essing, compression/expansion of part of spectrum (similarly to multiband compression) or even for example for avoiding collisions between bass drum and bass using side-chain. And the great thing is that they are very easy to use."
Mmhhh..."easy to use", really? I must admit I have bought Flex, too, but I still haven't used it...

I used TB flx to make a nylon string guitar solo sit perfectly in the mix. The solo was recorded with a near mike and has very strong peaks in the range between 2 and 4 KHz. If you filter these frequencies heavily with a static eq, the loud parts and the transients sound o.k., but the soft notes will sound very dull and vanish in the mix. With a dynamic eq like flx I set the eq filter in a way that sounds good for the strong parts and by activating and tweaking the correspondig dynamics section I achieve the effect that the soft passages pass through without filtering and the filtering gets stronger when the signal gets louder. In the case of the nylon guitar solo this works perfectly. It also works very well if you put it after an amp simulation that sounds a little harsh in the louder parts but sounds just right in the softer parts. So I mainly use it to correct frequencies on peaks and loud passages. Of cours you could achieve the same effect by automating a static eq, but using a dynamic eq will make your life much easier in such situations.vaisnava wrote:Can someone give me a real world of example of when to use this plugin? I wish there could have more presets showcasing each filter type's "strong points" : it is sometimes hard to know which kind of filter to chose, and in which scenario should it be best used.
