So how's everyone liking IVGI?
:tu:

Post

Sorry for not having written anything earlier. I really like this plugin and eager for the bigger version to be released!
So far i've just played around with the knobs to find sounds i like, but i'd like to analyze it a bit more to hear how it actually changes the sound.
Thank you so much!!!!

Also, DC8C is my fav compressor by far!

for the crosstalk the left channel is bleeding into the right one and vice versa. this is narrowing down the stereo image a tiny bit (but in a good way-> it adds to the realness), that's why can turn that off in IVGI, if it's bothering you :) this channel bleeding has it's own dynamic and frequency response, so that the center of the stereo image sounds a bit more pronounced and shift the focus from the sides to the center a bit. The effect of the crosstalk is really very subtle (it's around -60dB below the "main" signal. I don't know the exact figures right now, Compyfox measured the crosstalk a few pages back.) How the crosstalk's affecting the sound is most noticable on full mixes, I think.

Thanks for the infos Tony, I didn't think that crosstalk could narrow the stereo image. Great now I see the point, and yes I think it can be more significant on a full mix. I'll try that !

I've actually started this thread for a plugin I give away for free. Speculating about framework issues of JUCE and iPlug related plugins in FL Studio, that until now only 2 (!) users are experiencing might be feel better at home in a) a different thread or b) in a FLS forum.
Honestly, I'm a bit confused by this attitude. I (a paying customer of yours BTW) had the feeling that me being able to reproduce a rare issue some other user is experiencing might help fixing it (and with this, fix several other plugins as well), which would be in the interest of you and your users. Foolish of me to think that issues with a plugin would fit into a thread about that plugin...

This has nothing to do with IVGI being free, as it affects payed plugins as well. Anyway, if you're interested in investigating this further, feel free to PM me.

Oh well. Back to topic then: yes, I like IVGI as much as I like DC8C and VUMT, both of which I bought in the past. SDRR's GUI looks gorgeous and I'm looking forward to its release.

Well, you're absolutely right, that reporting this might help. And this was not my point as you might have read. It just got a bit out of hand IMHO, as we got all this a few pages back already. But anyway, let's get over it :) And again, could you please write me a mail. That's way easier then sending possible fixes/tries via pm. There'll be a new beta for DC8C 2.0 next week, BTW.

Sorry for being a bit grumpy, it somehow caught me on the wrong foot. No hard feelings! I'll get back to you by mail.

I didn't expect to see a v2 of DC8C so soon. That's exciting news. I'd love to see an update to the GUI in the style of SDRR. Aside from that - what else could get better? DC8C is already such a flexible beast.

You apparently have a lot of good stuff up your sleeve. Hopefully you get rewarded for your work. All the best!

Ha, thank you. So we can talk in german then :)

Regarding the DC8C update: well I actually wanted to only fix a few minor things and apply a perliminary preset browser. But it got a bit out of hand (again :help: ) There'll be a new mode called SMASH (the opposite to the CLEAN mode) which will let an 1176 look like a slow compressor (maybe). I've also changed the SHAPE control and added a third shape. The saturation has been tweaked too. And the oversampling has changed completely. With the update DC8C will benefit noticeably from the OS. Since every OS stage will include additional processing elements to improve the behavior further. Due to these changes it'll need (and have) a new plugin ID.

I hope to get both the DC8C update and SDRR out until the end of July. But that's very optimistic :)

Wow, 2.0! Well done! Sounds like a great update! Credit card is ready ;)

That is, IF the update will be paid?

I don't charge for updates.
You could say "Dude giving away the update for free=working for free" But the truth is, that improving DC8C is a) fun/egoism b) less support needed because of a better working plugin c) less feature requests, because some will be implemented ---> more time for new stuff ->fun again. So it's win/win, I guess :)

Please consider this. I know it shouldn't, but the wooden GUI of DC8C kinda stops me from using it. I know, "you can't hear your screen" and stuff, but it does anyway

All your other products look fantastic, btw!

Post

I for one think that the wooden GUI is excellent!

I'm sorry if you feel I ruined your thread. The only reason I posted several times after my initial post is because people asked me questions, and it felt rude to ignore them

I stayed away until someone actually confirmed after 2 years. Understandable why I replied to Peter, surely?

You already know how I felt about your plugins since DC1A. I gave up with Sonimus, which i paid for. Took a loss. Yet I persisted with you. Not because I have a personal vendetta. Hmm, what could the other reason be?

I'm so glad someone has actually reproduced. When you're the only person experiencing an issue, it can seem like you're trying to convince the dev that you've been abducted by little pink men, wearing bowler hats, and been, well tested on and stuff.

Honestly, thank you Peter (Andre?). It was cool of you to help out out of good will. I think I must have got under Tony's skin with this issue; I was scared that might happen at some point. Didn't mean to cause bad blood. I just honestly love Klanghelm stuff. Now I feel bad. Oh well...

Well if you need me you know my email. I already reported to Fred @ IL long ago, but alas, he couldn't reproduce either. And JUCE well, whoever mentioned JUCE was misinformed. This issue has nothing to do with JUCE, fact.

Merry Friday. I promise I won't mention again unless somebody PMs or emails me. Don't want to be the bad guy shitting over developers generosity. But when Peter confirmed it, well, I couldn't help myself...I'm human.
