Just FYI - Key88 needs to add his song to the soundcloud group, he's ok though he already uploaded it to his SC page, and posted his submission here:

Unfortunately exporting .fxp presets from FL studio ends up being pretty cumbersome - but for any fellow OSC'ers in the fruity/IL universe here's the project file:tonedef71 wrote:I hope more folks will submit their custom presets for the MauSynth.

48 KB for a 6:47 min song, good compression!
@ToneDef, I think you mentioned you were curious about the presets on this one - if you don't already have it, FL has an unlimited-time demo that can open the project (I think the demo limit is that you can't reopen anything you've saved). Most of the sounds make use of delay FX, EQ, etc., so probably more useful in the context of the full project. Anyway you could export an .fxp on anything interesting for use in Sonar etc.

Since most of the sounds make use of delay FX, EQ, etc., they're probably more useful in the context of the full project than as separate "dry" .fxp's (and it's a bit tedious to export them one by one in FL). Anyway if you wanted you could export an .fxp on anything interesting, and set up equivalent FX for use in Sonar etc.
Here's the FL Studio project file for my track this month:tonedef71 wrote:I hope more folks will submit their custom presets for the MauSynth.

For future contest forms, I'd like to request that they be listed on the voting form in the order they are presented in the player window of the challenge page, instead of alphabetically. On a sheet of paper, I wrote 1-30 then filled in a number by each for a vote as I listened to then transfer into the voting form. After about 6 entries it clicked that they were aphabetized. I then had to go back on my paper and write everyone's name by the position number and then hunt them on the list to vote. Then double check by each name to verify none were left out. Pain in the @$$, and took 4 times longer to vote than it should have. Not to mention having to hunt in the forum to see what-wuz-what with Key88 on the form...
Rant over.

You could have used the super-awesome z.prime script to put the entries directly on the voting form.Robert West wrote:For future contest forms, I'd like to request that they be listed on the voting form in the order they are presented in the player window of the challenge page, instead of alphabetically. I thought that had to be implemented at the server level...z.prime wrote:You could have used the super-awesome z.prime script to put the entries directly on the voting form.Robert West wrote:For future contest forms, I'd like to request that they be listed on the voting form in the order they are presented in the player window of the challenge page, instead of alphabetically. No, I posted in the voting form how to make it work... simple few steps - just need to make it into a bookmarklet. OK, that seems to work nicely, good job! Now, are you ready to do all of that every month? Don't get me wrong, I think that's a neat piece of coding you've done (wait for it..................) but, (ah-ha!) who will update it each month if (God forbid) you get sick or walk away from the OSC? Then We'll still have the same root problem.z.prime wrote:No, I posted in the voting form how to make it work... simple few steps - just need to make it into a bookmarklet. I put this out as something to consider, not trying to rock the dinghy.
Also, the script link will need to be "stickyed" somewhere handy each month.

Yes, I definitely agree with your points. The script currently looks things up by name on the voting form, so theoretically it shouldn't have to be updated. But, there were a few oddities that the script had to account for this OSC, and it's likely there will be more. I definitely would like a better way to do voting (yes, I'd be happy to code one up so it's permanent). And you're right - yes, there should be a reference to the script as long as we're using the Google forms for voting, so newcomers can use it, too. I'd love it be integrated in, but alas, the Google forms don't appear to allow for that.Robert West wrote:OK, that seems to work nicely, good job!
