If you noticed his description, 6th instance of Satin IS used as a bus comp, sort of.

at 128 buffer precisely 5% per instance.

the i7 is 2.5 years old though and only 2.2 ghz

so that could be about right.
Theo, have you thought about overclocking your I7, not sure what mobo your using, but if it's a gigabyte or an asus, you can get that i7 cranking to 3ghz and trust me, that will help. I have my i7/950 running at low temps cruising at 4ghz, just a thought brother

Haha, use what you prefer to use. :)

I'm just saying... there's more to Satin than just hiss and flutter. Driving the input with the make-up active can act as glue by itself, pardon the pun. Add to that a light mix of Companders and a hint of soft output clipping... *heaven*

Spot on. :tu:

Live doesn't measure true CPU usage...

Sweet! I am definitely looking forward to spending the other 89$ i have left on satin then..

I like tape saturation plugins and since this is also a delay and other things I for one am pretty stoked about the release of this.

Sorry for the confusion, as i realise many say that is not the correct way to say what cpu a plugin uses. But i always go by the DAW meter cause that's the one that i know where i can fill it to before issues! I mean they have always been accurate for me in knowing if a project is using too much cpu or not, so that's why i use them.
The thing with Live's CPU meter is that it's related to the time that the CPU needs to take to fill the audio buffer and not produce any dropouts. Which is not the same thing as how many % of CPU a certain plugin (or your whole project) uses...
