Thanks for the update. It fixed all the note end problems on my setup.
payne_bc wrote:Unfortunatelly I cannot reproduce that here. Seems fine here when I do that.
I just tested, and the x86 variant doesn't crash. Possibly it's just something on my system.

The only problem that I still encounter is that the Formant Type parameter also controls the Formant Wet knob. When automating both, the latter is ignored.

Works reasonably well in Podium at 41khz (and above?) but I'll be saving often.
Don't mean to talk ill of the Dev tho, the sound sculpting potential of this thing is HUGE :-o

Confirmed. And I already see the problem in the code. Expect a fix soon

Betatest and competition in one :P
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

It's a one synth challenge for all of us. Even me ;)

Indeed... one of the greatest developers ever in an OSC... serious dedication. It would be nice to have this support each month... we're sorta spoiled with Tunefish hehe

Post

Thank you

On the other hand, do you run into similar problems with other synths? I would suppose not. But good thing is, many of those problems are identical to the ones in the coming Tunefish v4 which I guess I will release after this competition (It's a wavetables/additive synth this time) so actually 2 synths benefit from your bugreports :)

Yes we have actually, and no one was there to help us :\

Of course it's all part of the challenge :)

v4 awesome!!! :band: :band2:

Yep, and although (tbh) I didn't like that idea at first, with the dedication of payne_bc its actually becoming fun to work the synth and see what comes up... both sound-wise as for bugs that are then squashed in an instant :hihi:

Serious kudos to the dev :hail:

Actually, yes. And like bjporter said, it's rare to see a dev so helpful & active when these things happen (the only one that did the same from what I remember was the creator of Feldspar). Funny, you'd think they'd all be in cloud 9 seeing their products getting this kind of attention :)

Anyway, kudos for the quick fixes & for creating a (potentially) great freebie: generosity is rare these days ;) I will try to come up with a song for this OSC - I've dealt with "challenging" synths before :)

It seems I'm getting my wish (that I stated before here); the synth is already pretty stable now and absolutely usable. So coming weekend I'll start working on a track :D

Only need about 50 sequencers and arps for what I'm planning (so not so much 'live performance' this time) ;)

By the way, the current tf3 package does not have all too many presets. How protective are you guys of the patches you create? If somebody would be willing to send me their patches after the competition is over, I'd package them with the final tf3 download and credit you in a readme. That way there'd be a richer selection of patches for other composers in the future.

Fine here ...if I can create any worthy of release that is

Also, from a previous post, can you pls define slop? It seems like a fine tune/de-tune/drift sort of thing?

Post

Slop causes notes to be played unprecise. meaning a random number will be added or subtracted from the note frequency causing the sound to be a bit richer when played many times. For bass type sounds this should be set low or to zero.
I don't even remember where I got this parameter name, I think I should rename that in the next version. I seem to remember I've seen similar knobs in other synths beeing labeled "analog". Any proposals?

The Slp in the ADSR will change the steepness of the slope. Set to the middle, the ADSR will be linear, above and below it will behave exponential or logarithmic.

Post

First, I don't think this has been reported yet?

1. Map ADSR1 to Noise
2. UP the mod value a little
3. Make some quick changes to the sustain on ADSR1
4. Sound drops out, instrument seems to hang.

TuneFish beta 3 on Win7 64-bit, Podium 32-bit with x86 version.

Can anyone replicate this?
