I remember i got a cosmic baby cd as a present from an older edm fanatic, who was a regular at the early fusion festivals if that rings a bell (i went once in 2012, and it's supposedly very different now. Still fun but too huge for my wee fragile heart)
Anyway, i enjoyed that cd. I think i didn't even recognise it as trance, as i thought trance was pretty much only the tiesto sound or what have you back then.

Not keen on the Chicane type tarnce thing. Although a fair bit of what used to get called goa-trance is up my street. I listen to a lot less of it these days though.
But my parents do (65 & 69 yrs old)- the fluffier the better for them.
I don't hate it. Just so much of it seems carbon copy music. Paint by numbers. Scratch these lines to reveal the shiny bits - what a surprise it looks like the picture before it, but it's shiny and slightly messier. That analogy might have diverged onto the wrong rails there.
I've heard stuff that sounded more like what I called techno at the time and enjoyed it when I was out and about, gurning like an old man with no teeth.
I would say that fluffy trance is nice when you're on the right drugs, but then a squirrel farting in time sounds good when you're on the right drugs....

Q. Why is a mouse when it spins?

Any squirrel you heard farting in time was a hallucination and you know it!The_Hidden_Goose wrote: I would say that fluffy trance is nice when you're on the right drugs, but then a squirrel farting in time sounds good when you're on the right drugs....

Personally I prefer deeper elephant farts as sub kicks and squirrel farts as hi-hats!camsr wrote:Is the secret of tarnce production really layering squirrel fart on the top of the kick?

On a related note, I used the hamsterdance theme in a live set once. Yes, it's been down a thousand times since, but I played it while the hamsterdance site was still new, heh!camsr wrote:Is the secret of tarnce production really layering squirrel fart on the top of the kick?
No, it didn't sound like this, I was all about (non-progressive) house. But, here's 10 hours of cheese just in case you need it.

It's the opposite actually.camsr wrote:Is the secret of tarnce production really layering squirrel fart on the top of the kick?
Kicks are not really important in tarnce music as such.
My other host is Bruce Forsyth
