In my opinion, Reaktor 6 is the headlining other product, in addition to the Kontakt libraries. Still, I will most probably be skipping this.Muziksculp wrote:I see no point in releasing K11/K11U with just some additional Kontakt libraries.
When do you see komplete 11 coming out?

I really don't need more (new) products. I simply need them to expand on what they already have in the collection.. namely upgrades to Absynth, FM8, and Massive. This is slowly becoming just a collection of Kontakt libraries and Reaktor ensembles.

I really wonder what's wrong with the Reaktor ensembles? Monark is the perfect prove that Reaktor is capable of generating great sounds. More blocks/modules with a thriving Reaktor community seems like a cool thing instead of releasing single plugins that noone can reuse. But I'm totally with you on Absynth and Massive. Updating those would be really great.
I still hope K11 will ship with the Symphony Series stuff (full version, not stripped down please).

Oh.. I didn't know that, so it is completely independent of Reaktor, I wonder what is the delay due to as far as Kontakt 6 is concerned, they had years to work on it. What's the deal here ?EvilDragon wrote:It's not. At all.Muziksculp wrote:and even Kontakt is based on the Reaktor engine

All their ideas are sketched out on the internal Reactor that spits out usable code snippets, their standalones are just that though, standalone.Muziksculp wrote:I have a feeling since all of their instruments, and even Kontakt is based on the Reaktor engine,

So will Kontakt 6 sound better than Kontakt 5 ?
Hopefully the answer will be : Yes

I was told by a friend who uses Reaktor, that Reaktor 6 sounds much better than Reaktor 5 , I don't have Reaktor 6 to verify. So, I'm hoping Kontakt 6 will get an improved audio engine compared to Kontakt 5.bungle wrote:No idea, i find kontakt 5 fine, so no bones in this one.

What's exactly wrong with sound of Kontakt 5 and why it should sound better?Muziksculp wrote:So will Kontakt 6 sound better than Kontakt 5 ?

I find nothing wrong with Reaktor ensembles sonically. However, I don't like loading a shell to load an ensemble.. that's resource intensive. I'd rather just load the synth directly (ala VSTi). Especially since I load a plugin per track.TheKid wrote:I really wonder what's wrong with the Reaktor ensembles? Monark is the perfect prove that Reaktor is capable of generating great sounds. If NI could find a way to list ensembles as regular VSTi synths in an audio host and then load the 'shell' (the background Reaktor engine) upon first ensemble load, then it would probably be a lot more of a smoother experience as an end user. Instead, I'd end up loading Reaktor 20 times to get 20 ensembles.. no thanks! It is kind of kludgey to me at the moment.. so much that I don't even fool with it (even though I own it and Razor).
Pretty much the only products I routinely use out of Komplete are the single synths (Massive, FM8) and sometimes Battery... they sound good, low system resource use, and very easy to load.. as well as stable. That is what I like about the singles.

I'm really hoping K11 will have more in it than Reaktor 6 and some additional sample libraries. I don't care about a new Kontakt version, and I'm okay with instruments being Reaktor-based. But Absynth really could use some love, as well as Massive and FM8.

I forgot that Reaktor 6 is a pretty major addition. Didn't think of it since I already have the upgrade. So I guess it won't be a bad update even for the non ultimate. And we still don't know what the pink waveform thing is. I'm betting some kind of new Reaktor based sample mangler. Who knows, could be great!

That would be a really interesting direction to go in, imo.VitaminD wrote:f NI could find a way to list ensembles as regular VSTi synths in an audio host and then load the 'shell' (the background Reaktor engine) upon first ensemble load, then it would probably be a lot more of a smoother experience as an end user. The other problem with the Reaktor instruments is the preset browser is very basic. You need Kontrol to hint at something better, now giving TWO wrappers round your instrument. And Kontrol is still hopeless as software - it needs far more R&D before it's really ready for prime time.

R6 has exactly the same audio engine as R5. Just the Blocks have all the new DSP programming that was used in Monark and so on (zero delay feedback filters and so on).Muziksculp wrote:I was told by a friend who uses Reaktor, that Reaktor 6 sounds much better than Reaktor 5 , I don't have Reaktor 6 to verify. K6 won't have a new audio engine because there is no real need for it, frankly. There are other more important things that need sorting out, much more important than audio quality, which is already great. K5 got 29 new filters that sound much much better than old ones, and newer effects which are also higher quality than those from previous versions (new EQ, new compressors, new Jump Amp), so this is likely (my opinion) the direction in which NI is going to add to Kontakt.

Well, Hopefully you mean a lot of good stuff, and not the opposite
