Any presonus users catch the backlash they have been getting lately:

Well, it now is on the same level as Reaper, Cubase, Reason and a few others that have their fair share of bashers and fanboys duking it out.
Might as well wait to see what this hype is about.
After all, this is what marketing men do so well.
Create hype.

If I recall you can just rename the vst to the same as that of the one that does run in artist and it will loadEnGee wrote:
For Artist, I still can run Reaktor and Kontakt. I don't have Kontakt but I have some Reaktor instruments. The problem it is not seeing Reaktor 6, so I need to install Reaktor 5.

What's a VCA fader compared to a normal DAW mixer fader?

Hi,
The banner posted on the Presonus S1 3.2 Blog page mentions : New Features, Workflows, and Surprises.
http://blog.presonus.com/index.php/category/studio-one/
So... How likely is it that they will be adding a pattern-based editing workflow/environment in S1 3.2 ?
This will offer S1 v3.2 the pattern/clip style workflow that DAWs like Live, Bitwig, and FL Studio offer, if they do this, S1 v3.2 will be very attractive to many electronic musicians who like working in a pattern based DAW.
If you think this is a very unlikely prediction/scenario, then what could the new features, workflows, and surprises be ?
Cheers,
Muziksculp

I kind of think they are going after Bitwig and Live users too .Muziksculp wrote:Hi,

I'm interested in there USB3 interfaces so this has been a disappointing read . Seems us Windows users are way behind in the audio interface department latley . Where's our USB-C or Thunderbolt audio interface for Windows ??? Anyways the Presonus Studio 192 Mobile interface looks promising we will see soon maybe ?????beatmangler443 wrote:Any presonus users catch the backlash they have been getting lately:

I have so many thoughts.
I'll just mention one here. If they would have taken the top "issues" seriously, kicked ass and left a wake of destruction, none of this would matter.
As for that last post about the 192, presonus have made questionable hardware for a while. Not surprising the drivers are not what they promised.
Want the lowest latency and best overall sound? Quit yer gripping and get an RME. Problem solved. No really, it's not bullshit.

After all the subscription shenanigans Avid has played with Pro Tools, they'd be silly not to.EnGee wrote:I actually think they are going after Pro Tools users (mainly). Anyway, we will see in few days

I'm hoping its more modularity, such as the environment they referred to when making the new instruments.
I see no one can answer my previous question about VCA vs DAW fader.
Fruityloops and several other DAWs already have it.
No idea why it's referred to as VCA in the digital realm, as its obviously not voltage controlled.
It a 'relative' value group fader.

In a large–format analogue mixer, a VCA, or Voltage Controlled Amplifier, is a channel gain control that can be adjusted by varying a DC voltage on the control input. This makes it possible to 'move' a raft of faders together, maintaining any offsets within them, by moving a single control fader.

The whole VCA thing is very misleading in a DAW, it is as you say just a fader that moves a group of faders with a relative position; it is easy to achieve with almost any DAW, it was only a big deal on analogue mixing desks. (see here for Studio One 3 http://www.studio-one.expert/studio-one ... udio-one-3 )VariKusBrainZ wrote:I'm hoping its more modularity, such as the environment they referred to when making the new instruments.

They may have added a simple 'one click' way of doing this with a red fader cap to show its a VCA.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I agree about the Presonus dodgy interfaces , I had an early version of there Firebox FireWire interface it had a whining sound when using its analog ins n outs , RME yes I get it , but I'm waiting for USB-C / 3.1 3.2 or Thunderbolt for Windows , seems USB 3.0 interfaces are a joke. Focusrite Clarett may end up being the 1st Thunderbolt audio interface with Windows we will see... Meanwhile Im still using an echoaudiofire4 ..., As to S1V3 update I do think it's a mixer console thingy too from the pics , yawn ... Presonus could do something in the pattern launcher area IMHO and sell a Push type thingy but I think it's probably just some kind of console emulation. Yawn ...... So yes they are after ProTools and Cubase users still . I think they are losing a good bulk of DAW users or potential customers by doing nothing groundbreaking that would attract FL , Renoise , Live , and Bitwig users though .

If there isn't copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop copying of tracks from one song to another, I'm not interested.
