I'll contact Slate later and ask him if he's aware of that issue, and if this is maybe also happening with his release. It could indeed be a remnant from the last server glitch.robotmonkey wrote:Gotta love this iLok drama. Slate was sending out e-mails the other day that they are still (a week later) trying to fix iLok issues and now this happens. I'm sure people who got their licences screwed up because of Slate appreciate this new adventure of all the licences becoming inactive again. You can't make it up.
I'm not trying to make Pace "look good", I try to give a different f*cking viewpoint rather than instant finger pointing that ultimately one company (and this one alone) is to blame in this case.robotmonkey wrote:And Compyfox still trying to make Pace look good. It's hysterical!![]()
There seems to be a bug, and that one currently correlates around:
- AiR Music Tech's blowout sale
- Zynaptic's new reverb sale
- possible Slate's "The Monster" freebie release
BTW: Eventide also just jumped on to a Subscription plan with Gobbler - so this could also add to the equation of server glitches, etc.
I hope you REALLY meant this as a joke.robotmonkey wrote:Hope this will teach developers a lesson to look into something that u-he is using or Camel Audio was using when it still existed.
- U-HE uses serial and time bomb (plus some more stuff that is a trade secret - dig out Urs' threads)
- Camel Audio used C/R and f*cked over a sh*tload of users with their announcement "whelp - we stop business now - you have 4-5 months left to backup everything you can get and pray that your tools keep on working", while after a couple of weeks the C/R server slowly started to act up and made it impossible for users to continue using what they recently bought/updated. Then they were "integrated" into Apple Logic with Windows users being shown "the Finger" (not the NI trigger tool, mind you)
Better by a longshot? I full-heartedly disagree.
So just to get you right...Fleer wrote:Nope, no update. And it's the latest one, according to "Check for updates".
You neither did an update for either iLok nor OSX, neither did you any software update. Things just "Bombed" after you changed your OS password?
So unless you "re-synced" your licenses, this shouldn't happen - as this clearly sounds to me like "whoops mate - you changed some stuff, need to reset all licenses cause C/R is a thing, 'right?".
I really don't understand why everything should bomb out of nowhere if you didn't do anything crazy, or installed something new!?
simmo75 wrote:I just got a reply from iLok support.
They told me I need to go to there website and file a support request... Which is what I did in the first place! I know some people love iLok but this is bad service.
*sigh* Sadly not the first time this happened... indeed unprofessional.
I don't get you here - why do you think that 64bit "Managers" (read software - I think the drives ARE 64bit) are so important? Unless it's more down to frustration like "these folks can't program for sh*t!" - which I do get of course.arachnaut wrote:For me this is not a speed issue, it is a statement of a piece of software's internal structure and the development team's capabilities.Compyfox wrote:...arachnaut wrote:... The software and service is still 32-bit based.
Else regarding the service and software running still on 32bit... well... my DAC tools are on 32bit still as well. Doesn't slow me down. ...l
Question here as well:wasi wrote:I installed the AIR music tech pack the other day and it broke all my other iLok plugins, but the AIR plugins would still work. So today just for the fun of it I installed the Adaptiverb demo and that just now kicked out all my AIR plugins (i.e. they would show up as registered but not run).
So basically, it seems there's a bug in iLok where the latest iLok plugin added kicks breaks the registration of any the older ones.
I think it's pretty safe to say based on these observations that it has nothing to do with windows updates as there were none performed on my PC since yesterday and the AIR plugins worked today until I installed Adaptiverb. Then they stopped working like the rest.
FWIW, my license manager is v3.0.3.1468 (r33772), win10pro 64bit. Software iLok.
Was there an iLok Manager update being handled by you in the meantime?
It seem to be boiling down to v.1468 on Windows, and the most recent version on Mac. Rarely v.522 on Windows.
Sadly there is no blog or release notes list on the page to see when the last driver updates were. Maybe this could exactly pinpoint when things went awry.
