I have well over 200 plugins installed on that system including some from Cakewalk and Sonar X3. I've never seen this warning pop up before.
Just a false positive. Might be related to just a particular version of Bitdefender signatures.
No, you are incorrect. This is not a Virus warning. It's a Ransomware warning telling me the .exe is trying to modify a folder. Read the message again.

Anyway I'll pass on installing it on my studio computer.

Do you ever install a plugin without running around like a scared chicken, and asking the internet what to do afterwards?

Yes I've installed hundreds of them.....or maybe you missed that part. I know comprehension is not one of your strong points.

Try to understand this....I also use my Studio computer for Financial Account and Transaction tracking so security of that system is of paramount importance to me. I don't need another 2A emulation bad enough to risk compromising that security even if the risk is slim. Do you get it or should I use smaller works and speak slower ?

I agree.
But it was killer on vocals, right?

:hihi:
That's what I've heard, but, I've also heard that it's not very good on drums.
So it must be decent on beatboxing track?
Tried it on Microtoniq (extremely challenging, especially when you engage a Patternarium patch whice generates EXTREMELY spiky Hats/snares and EXTREMELY deep kick drums).

As said, pure Sh1te.

Instant uninstall.

Yeah, I hear ya. And frankly, I don't own or have not used the waves one, but like I said, the RE is bloody fantastic so I'm gonna sucker in.
The RE isn't free though, right? You're just saying that you have and like the RE and so you're going to download the VST, yes?
Yes.

Like I said earlier, I got it on one of the rare cake/RE sales.

My two favorite uses are bass guitar and guitar guitar. I don't do vocals.

Bitdefender is actually very good. Even one of the best.

But that does not mean it's not false positive. Especially if heuristic and behavioral detection sensitivity has been increased. Seen it happen with Eset and Kaspersky too lately.

It sounds good on vocals.

Bitdefender Total Security is one of the highest scoring best respected products on the market and is not prone to false positives which is one reason why I've been using it for years. Try to understand...this isn't a virus warning is not a false positive. It's a Ransomware warning letting me know something is trying to access my protected folders. I chose not to let that .exe access folders on my studio computer. Get over it......

+1 Gotta agree with that

If in doubt, better just leave the plug alone

I installed it, got no warnings, but each to his own

Do you blindly install everything and trust everyone ? Good for you. Like I said I use my studio computer for financial tracking. I'll give you a couple of hundred thousand reasons why security is of utmost importance to me on that system.

I've already got an excellent 2A emulation....and over two hundred other excellent plugins on my studio computer that didn't kick up wonky warnings.

Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

Exactly. If this was a plugin I really needed or wanted I might have allowed the .exe to pass but the 2A is not something I really need. I might install it on this system and if it blows me away I might consider bypassing the security warnings on my studio computer. I trust Cakewalk to a degree but wonder why all of a sudden this 2A emulation is offered for free. Perhaps they are just being altruistic.
