Was hoping for it to be at least £20 cheaper than it is at max discount. Oh well, time to see whether it lives up to the hype.

101 EUR for me too. Way more than I want to pay for a reverb. Maybe at the next sale... 15 December?

I'm thinking that too. The max discount is usually bumped to 65%, so it might make buying another verb more paletteable.

In the past, new products haven't been discounted during sales.e@rs wrote:101 EUR for me too. Way more than I want to pay for a reverb. Maybe at the next sale... 15 December?
If they did discount it 1 month after releasing, there'd be a lot of angry customers.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Why would someone risk and rush to buy it now, when the fully functional trial is 30 days, lasting exactly until their sale period starts?Robert Randolph wrote:If they did discount it 1 month after releasing, there'd be a lot of angry customers.

Well, this seals the deal. Ridiculous price for a reverb. Moving on from this train wreck.

I have very positive early impressions. It's clean sounding and blends very well with the source. Small spaces are great (the litmus test). Distance control is impressively authentic. Very easy to shape the freq response/tonality with both the brightness control and the EQs. Character/modulation sounds great to me. Stereo control makes it very easy to get what you want. The CPU usage is comparatively low. Overall, all the controls are very well thought out, simplifying the process, and providing great workflow.
Not sure it brings much to the reverb table apart from the Decay Rate EQ and sweet graphics, but I do like the sound, and appreciate how easy to use they've made it. CPU usage is better than most. It's a win, but I'm probably still going to wait until it's heavily discounted, unless I get terrible GAS.

Heavily discounted, riiight... Don't think you'll get more than 25% off anytime sooner that their 20th anniversary. In 2024.

That's true...e@rs wrote:Heavily discounted, riiight... Don't think you'll get more than 25% off anytime sooner that their 20th anniversary.
In general, Reverbs are also more expensive than regular plugs. Not saying that it's right, but it's usually the way. Slate's new one is 200 bananas.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

It's already 40% discount. 8 months tops (summer bundle sale); 65% discount. They may even do it for spring sale. I've been playing this 'game' long enoughe@rs wrote:Heavily discounted, riiight... Don't think you'll get more than 25% off anytime sooner that their 20th anniversary. In 2024.
edit: maybe it's 55%. Memory isn't what it used to be. But that's still a heavy discount.

For an existing customer, yeah, it's ok. But for someone that buys this as his first FF product...

You people are spoiled by Valhalla price, that's why u think it's too expensive.
After demoing it and trying it out on my new song, i find myself liking it a lot. Clean sound, fast workflow, and the Eq make shaping the sound easy.
A must buy for me, especially since i only own Vintage Verb right now.

Off topic, that intro video is decent as a generic reverb tutorial, I related to it more than actual reverb tutorials I've come across.
On topic, the "real world" parameters seem great, and it looks/sounds flexible and easy to use, but I'd be frightened that I'd lose myself in the decay / EQ tweaking rabbit hole
I did wonder what could FabFilter bring to the table for Reverb, but I think they have got something that sets them apart from others.
